He looks like grand-dad here....ok, ok, I'll stop cracking he's too old jokes...but W-A-AA-AH.....I miss Matt Bah! He looks like a proper Doctor, not these insolent young whipper-snappers they've had running around snogging anything that moves. Hurt's withering put-down of 'timey-wimey' nonsense is one of my favourite moments in "Day of the Doctor".

I'm stoked. I liked Matt Smith just fine, but this is the Doctor, not One Direction. The "young doctor who all the girl companions fall in love with" thing was fine for awhile, but I think it's played out now, so I'm looking forward to a different direction.

I just might try this sometime, as I'm on a dare to do so...

I did wonder if the young, attractive 'hip' version was specifically to get female fans... it seems to have worked if it was among my acquaintances, for sure. Also, the promos are saying he's 2000 years old now... that's a BIG difference.. I know towards then end of the Matt Smith era they went through a couple hundred years, but there's still a pretty big gap, unless I'm misremembering something.

The Doctor spend 900 years on Trenzalore in the finale and was around 1100-1200 during the second season of Matt Smith's run and onwards. So 2000 is about correct.

I know quite a number of femmes who aren't too stoked about Uncle Doctor Who. Can't see Capaldi pulling this off...

Ah, that's it...wibbly wobbly, timey-wimey stuff... As a bit of extra news on Matt Smith, he'll have a major role in the new Terminator movie. "The thing is, I've been implanted with a chip where, if I talk about it, my head explodes," said Smith during a question and answer session at Wizard World Minneapolis.

Skynet will steal a TARDIS and Sarah Conner is toast...

I'll stop grumbling now. Probably.

So Jenna Louise Coleman will leave at the end of this season (or in the Christmas episode). Which, meh. I never developed any feeling for her character, so her leaving doesn't do anything for me. And the episode titles for Season 8 have been announced -
Episode 1: Deep Breath – Written by Steven Moffat
Episode 2: Into The Dalek – Written by Phil Ford and Steven Moffat
Episode 3: Robot Of Sherwood – Written by Mark Gatiss
Episode 4: Listen – Written by Steven Moffat
Episode 5: Time Heist – Written by Stephen Thompson and Steven Moffat
Episode 6: The Caretaker – Written by Gareth Roberts and Steven Moffat
Episode 7: Kill The Moon – Written by Peter Harness
Episode 8: Mummy On The Orient Express – Written by Jamie Mathieson
Episode 9: Flatline – Written by Jamie Mathieson
Episode 10: In The Forest Of The Night – Written by Frank Cottrell Boyce
Episode 11/12 Dark Water/Death In Heaven – Written by Steven Moffat
I wonder if Ep 8 involves the mummies from Pyramids of Mars?
