That's big John Buscema.

Buscema never got the credit he deserved for being one of the best Cap artists--ever. His style made Cap's superhuman athleticism come alive in ways Kirby never quite reached.

Confessor , I'd never seen the reprint cover, but I get why you're sitting in the Heretics Corner. Plus, Kirby drew 9 of the 11 Marvel covers that came out that month. This looks hastily drawn, and the composition strikes me as sub-par compared to other Kirby covers. Usually he did a nice job on covers featuring several figures despite weird blurbs, etc. I wonder if there's an original version of Avemngers 4 lurking somewhere and this is a quickly drawn replacement? Just a thought. The inking job, either. I thought it might be Paul Reinman, but the GCD credits George Roussos. Either way, the damage was done. For me, Kirby was best served by the kind of smoothness inkers like Joe Sinnott brought to his pencils. Is that inset inked by someone else, btw? It looks better than the faces on Cap and Thor.

It didn't happen very often -- just a couple of early issues of FF and a back-up story in ASM -- but I love how Ditko refined Kirby's blocky pencils and lent them a fluidity, without sacrificing any of the dynamics of his art.

I've always considered John Buscema to be the best Artist that Marvel ever had. His stuff was just beautiful to look at.

The Brave and the Bold's Irv Novick cover had more drama, as well as being shocking, with Batman attacking Robin (in a decade when it was all about Batman and Robin). Yes, but Adams is able to subtly convey that Speedy and Kid Flash are sad

Imo, the Sub-Mariner inset on Avengers 4 is also inked by Roussos. Roussos had a long career in comics starting at the very beginning of the Golden Age thru the 80s. But I never liked his inking style. It always had a rushed look to it, imo.

Yes, but Adams is able to subtly convey that Speedy and Kid Flash are sad And history is made, as "Neal Adams" and "subtle" are used for the first (and presumably last) time ever in the same sentence.

These covers don't even look like the same story. Very odd. Both are are good, but I prefer the original.

I think it's odd because a bear and loose bats have nothing to do with the team up.
