What are you some of your favorite episodes of TNG? Oooh... this will require multiple lists/posts to answer. I'm gonna go with my top 5 from each season, since I'm sure people are dying to know... Season 1:
Encounter at Farpoint - Our introduction to the 24th century. The acting may be shaky in retrospect, but so many great concepts and characters were introduced! Conspiracy - TNG's first "dark" episode, and one I wish they'd followed up on. Datalore - The only Lore episode I like, actually. But it's a great one. Skin of Evil - She may not have been around long enough to really be developed, but I did like Tasha. And that funeral scene gets me every time... Hide & Q - Today it's hard to see past the cheesy effects, but as a dumb kid I loved it. A guilty pleasure still.

Season 2:
Q Who? - Intro to the Borg. 'Nuff said!
The Measure of a Man - A true Trek classic, nothing I can say that hasn't already been said.
The Emissary - Suzie Plakson's overacting is a bit grating, but I loved the K'Ehleyr (sp?) character, and this was the episode that made me care about Worf.
Where Silence Has Lease - As a kid I found Nagilum truly disturbing.
Manhunt - A much better showing for Lwaxana than S1's Haven. And Mick Fleetwood.

Season 3:
Yesterday's Enterprise - Another classic. If I hadn't liked Tasha before, this one would have converted me. Also love the bit of backstory for Guinan/Picard.
The Best of Both Worlds Pt. 1 - Again, nothing I can say that hasn't been said.
Sins of the Father - Laid the groundwork for what would be Worf's defining character arc for the rest of the series, and into DS9.
The Survivors - Doesn't make any 'Best of' lists, but I've always loved it. Even when I was young I really felt for poor Kevin Uxbridge.
The High Ground - Another one that never gets mentioned, but I'm a huge Beverly fan and this was the first time after her return that she got to do more than fret over Wesley.

Season 4:
Reunion - More Worf/K'Ehleyr goodness. Unfortunately it was the last we'd see of that... Oh, and Worf f**k's up that bastard Duras.
The Host - Easily Beverly's best episode, imho. Also introduced the Trill, who would go on to be one of my favorite alien species.
Redemption Pt. 1 - Lots of Klingon melodrama, and a cliffhanger rivaling TBOBW's Pt. 1.
Night Terrors - Most find it cringeworthy, but it's another guilty pleasure for me. Freaked me out as a kid, and we all know nostalgia is a powerful thing...
The Best of Both Worlds Pt. 2 - Riker didn't have the best showing in S4, but here he did. I loved it when he shut down Shelby.

Season 5:Cause and Effect - The first time I watched this as a kid, I didn't get it. I thought the station messed up and replayed the same part over again. It's now an all-time favorite. Violations - Creepy and pretty dark for Trek. Still hold up well, imho. Power Play - I've always loved possession stories, and this one's great. The Inner Light - Cliche, I know. The Game - S5's guilty pleasure. Most people hate this one, but not me...

Season 6:
Chain of Command - Still one of Stewart's finest performances. Everybody loves this one.
Frame of Mind - Again with the darker stuff. TNG could do it pretty well, and Frakes got to stretch his acting chops.
Timescape - Another one that people seem to not care for. I'm not sure why, I've always thought it was a fun episode.
Face of the Enemy - While I could hardly stand her in the early years, Sirtis really shines in the later seasons; this one is her best. And the Romulans are awesome.
True Q - The first of two Q appearances in S6, and while most prefer Tapestry, I always liked this one better.

Season 7:All Good Things... - The perfect finale. For all of its low points, S7 capped the series beautifully. Phantasms - My requisite dark episode. Genesis - Love this one. Perfectly moody and spooky. Attached - A bit cheesy, but I loved that they at least gave us some solid acknowledgement of the Picrusher relationship, since we never got closure. Thine Own Self - I'm not a huge Data fan (blasphemy, I know) but this episode is one of his better ones.

I just got a bunch of Star Trek comics at my LCS's newly reinstated cheap box. A bunch of DC TOS, a bunch of DC TNG and 1 Malibu DS9. Some one apparently ditched their Star Trek collection for mysterious reasons.

I'd recommend picking up more of those if you're able!

My favorite Trek comic was DC's first series, around '84, started by Mike Barr and Tom Sutton. That series was more closely linked to the movies than their follow-up titles but it featured some great stories, like Barr's Mirror Universe saga in #9-15.

Inspired by SJNeal, my favorite Next Gen episodes by season: Season 1: Rough start to the series (the first three episodes are unwatchable), but the season finishes relatively strong. "11001001" "Too Short a Season" "Conspiracy" "The Neutral Zone" Season 2: Really fun season, even if the later seasons blew it out of the water. This was still the original writing staff, so there's a very different feel here than what follows. "Where Silence Has Lease" "Elementary, Dear Data" "Loud as a Whisper" "Unnatural Selection" "The Measure of a Man" "Contagion" "The Royale" "Time Squared" "Q Who" "Samaritan Snare" "Up the Long Ladder" "Manhunt" "The Emissary" Season 3 -- Original writing staff is booted, and the production team receives shake-ups as well. TNG gets a lot more political, saving the sci-fi only for the biggest, most over the top storylines. "Booby Trap" "The Enemy" "A Matter of Perspective" "Yesterday's Enterprise" "The Offspring" "Sins of the Father" "Hollow Pursuits" "Sarek" "Ménage à Troi" "The Best of Both Worlds" Season 4: Rick Berman is in full control and Trek approaches its Golden Age "The Best of Both Worlds: Part II" "Family" "Reunion" "Future Imperfect" "Data's Day" "Clues" "Night Terrors" "The Nth Degree" "Qpid" "The Drumhead" "In Theory" "Redemption I" Season 5: The height of TNG "Redemption II" "Darmok" "Ensign Ro" "Disaster" "Unification I" "Unification II" "Cause and Effect" "The Inner Light" "Time's Arrow" Season 6: Still great "Time's Arrow, Part II" "Relics" "Schisms" "Chain of Command, Part I" "Chain of Command, Part II" "Ship in a Bottle" "Face of the Enemy" "Tapestry" "Lessons" Season 7: A lot of good ideas and character progression, but some of the magic is lacking and less of the episodes leave an impression/ "Dark Page" "Parallels" "Lower Decks" "Eye of the Beholder" "Genesis"

I'd recommend picking up more of those if you're able! I already have. I dropped by Saturday to get maybe a cheap trade to read while I waited for the oil change I was going in for, and then saw the cheap boxes were back. I dipped in again when I went in for my regular Wednesday pull before work, so I got more TOS, TNG and DS9 to go with the Star Trek I'd already gotten (plus the Waid Flashes, 90s Flash TV special and Messner-Loebs Wonder Womans). Star Trek: Starfleet Academy 3 was also out that Wednesday, so I'm buried in Star Trek.
