If I ever get rich and am able to quit my job so I'd actually have the time to marathon all of Star Trek from beginning to now, Continues would be right there between TOS and TAS.

I'm still slowly working my way through TOS on Netflix. After a long hiatus, I watched a huge chunk within the last week from Court Martial to This Side of Paradise (production order episodes #14-25). Space Seed was still as good as I remembered. Though Shore Leave was one of the weaker episodes, it did feature perhaps the most attractive actress in the original series next to the great Sherry Jackson, one Emily Banks. It sucks when these beauties appear for one episode and are never seen again...sigh. I know, I know. She's in her 80's now...but she wasn't then...

Looks like Star Trek Discovery has been pushed back until May of 2017 according to Variety. -M Yeah, I was just reading that and it seemed troubling to me.

That's can't be good. BBC America did a TOS marathon for the 50th.. it was great having my wife (who is a big fan of TNG but generally disdains TOS) watch Space Seed.. such a good episode.

It looks good, but am I wrong in assuming this is set in the new timeline? The Klingons look the way they did in Into darkness.

I'm interested in this one because of Michelle Yeoh but not too encouraged by anything else that I've seen or heard about it.

It looks good, but am I wrong in assuming this is set in the new timeline? The Klingons look the way they did in Into darkness. It's said to be in the regular timeline, but the speculation is that these Klingons look different because they are from a crew of ancient Kilingons that were in some kind of cryogenic sleep. However, the theory is a little slim as it's based solely on the Klingon ship being referred to as a Klingon sarcophagus ship in one of the behind the scenes videos. Still, either way it looks promising to me.

The uniforms also look more like the ones from the old Federation ship in Star Trek Beyond than like the TOS ones (or more accurately those from the Christopher Pike era). Same thing with the Vulcans' look. I really don't mind if it's in the reboot timeline. In fact, it might help this series be its own thing. One thing is sure: the ship in the above trailer looks better than the triangular one from the first teaser... I wonder if they tweaked the design after receiving negative initial reaction.

If the speculation is correct, the reasons for looking the same as the Klingons from the films could be budgetary: they already have the costumes and molds for the prosthetics from the films. Or it could be as you say, that although originally stated to be in the original timeline they decided to make it part of the film continuity. Personally, I'm okay either way.

In the U.S. and Canada it's only going to be available through CBS's streaming service?
Forget it. I ain't paying for another Netflix just for one show. It will remain Star Trek: Undiscovered for the time being!
