Yes, there are a few covers I'm anticipating will appear here (mostly Silver Age, of course ... but also some older ones). A lot of great cover selections so far! I'm dying to use that "wood" Rifleman cover. .but that's not two men, that's a man and a teenager! LOL! That particular cover is a classic, and maybe it, er, fits the "mano a mano" portion, but it doesn't exactly depict an altercation. On the contrary they appear to be rather friendly... At any rate, I love your Cap cover.

There is one cover I'm almost certain we'll see. If it doesn't show up, I'll post it after the contest ends.

I've always loved this cover. One day I'm going to buy this book and read this story.

I've always loved this cover. One day I'm going to buy this book and read this story. That was one of the covers I considered, and thought might be someone's entry. The other one that popped into my mind is a Marvel comic.

I've always loved this cover. One day I'm going to buy this book and read this story. It's an odd issue--written by Haney and edited by George Kashdan, so the Batman and Hawkman here are totally different then the characters in their own books. And it's drawn by Johnny Craig, of all people.

Two covers came immediately to mind for me, both from the same series. But I'm trying to avoid superheroes here lately. If no one uses them, I'll probably post them later too.

Little known fact: Schatzi and Snoopy filled in as the pilots for this cover

You can see the whole story of "I Saw Hitler Die!" from Battle #16 here. Good grief! Punched in the schnoz by Captain America, burned alive by the Human Torch, and now shot in the face by his own man. Almost makes you feel sorry for the poor devil. . .yeah, not even a little.
