I think we may have set a new record for the number of covers attracting votes this week.
But emerging on top of this tussle is Icctrombone with 4 votes.
Bruised but unbowed in 2nd is Paradox with 3 votes.
Battling it out for 3rd are MDG, Ish Kabbible, Hossier X and Phil Maurice with 2 votes each.
And rounding out this field of champions, with one vote apiece, are (deep breath) Slam-Bradley, Prince Hal, chickenpocket, tingametro, pinkfloydsound17, bert, jodoc, DubipR, foxley and benday-dot. Whew!

Now that voting's over, can I just say I really wish Iron Fist had kept this outfit (OK, I know it was later revealed that he never actually wore it is, as he was being impersonated by the Super Skrull at the time, but still...) The red and yellow just works so well, much more dynamic than the green and yellow or the more recent white costume. |

Congrats, Icctrombone! I was hoping the theme would inspire some Hawkman covers. As mentioned there were some other covers I thought would make an appearance. I'll post a couple here. Swan did some great covers (see MDG's cover) and here's another one I thought would be suitable.  I was also hoping to see this one (benday-dot posted a great Spectre cover late in the game).  |

I was thinking of posting the Spectre cover but I felt the BB cover was more brutal. Even the Batmobile was wrecked !

Those are certainly excellent covers, @jodoc and @mechagodzilla --thanks for posting! But except for Fantastic Four #42 (Reed intertwined with Ben)--they don't quite fit the physical contact aspect that I set forth in my OP (as Icctrombone noted). Great covers though...as were your official submissions.  Here's another cover I thought might show up.  |
