For higher visibility, I am creating this as a thread:
Minutes ago, CBR created a "Classics & Collected" thread. Someone is moving threads into it.
Someone started a new thread, and it was promptly deleted.

Time will tell if it succeeds.
I think it may be the end of the CBR forums. It feels like when the newsarama boards went away...

They also shut down the chat threads.
I used to see this kind of behavior on the farm from chickens that were about to end up on the dinner table.

Someone started a new thread, and it was promptly deleted. That's incredibly disheartening. I'll be honest -- had they found a way to bring back the old threads, I would have seriously considered moving back, but a move like this just gives me the chills. For years, our community was just plain ignored. But I'm not willing to live under someone's thumb, reminded this is their board and not ours; subject to their whims.

So they actually went ahead and reinstated the Classics forum, calling it Classics & Collected now, huh?
Doesn't feel the same. Don't think it ever will now, come to think of it.

I don't think it's the end of the CBR forums, but it's likely the end of my enjoyment of them. I will stick around for the omnibus and hardcover thread, but I don't think I'll spend nearly as much time over there anymore. Especially now with a third comic book message board I'm participating in.

Unless this group heads back I'm done. They just combined Ritas into one enormous chat thread. No Books. After 17 years I have no desire to go to CBR.

Wait, they dumped all the chat threads into there? The minority one, the LGBT one, the X-Men one?

I found it interesting that they dedicated seven out of ten "comics" forums to Marvel and DC, and one out of ten forums to all classics, all international comics, and all publishers outside of Marvel, DC, and Image.

That does seem out of touch with the times, with the clear direction comics are moving in. Especially odd that the misogynistic old guard of comics that made all the trouble is closely tied to the big two publishers. The wave of diversity that is overtaking comics and ruffling bigoted feathers is largely due to the success of companies like Image, Dark Horse, IDW, Oni, Top Shelf, Fantagraphics, etc. etc. etc.

Have faith in this board and it will be nice - some people, and the most knowledgeable ones too, dont seem to want to go back to cbr under any circumstance - so we may as well all stick together.

Wait, they dumped all the chat threads into there? The minority one, the LGBT one, the X-Men one? The Minorities and LGBT threads are still there however the off topic threads like Rita's and IAM Marvel threads were locked. Instead an off topic CBR Chat thread was added.

I was thinking when I saw it that it would be good, but if they're modded that heavily already , then no thanks.
I suspect you guys might be right. Newsaramas forums went this way too

Heh, that reminds me of the old European comics thread (don't know if it was the Comm or Classics version of it), where somebody came in and asked us why we only focused on European comics in that thread instead of a wider scope. I had a real hard time not to respond "There is an entire forum dedicated to 1 guy dressed as a bat."
