Evidently Sigourney Weaver will be the big villain of The Defenders.
Some rumors floating around that she'll play a female version of Mephisto.

I don't know if it will top Luke Cage but it certainly looks good.

Show is getting absolutely trashed early on
Many saying it's the first genuinely awful product the MCU has produced.
I'm still going to check it out, but it's not sounding too good. A few reviews are saying the first 3-4 episodes feel like a boring, cheaply made soap opera.

A cheaply made soap opera mixed with surreal kung fu sounds exactly like the original Iron Fist comic-book!

Eh, I sorta feel for the guy. There were high expectations for this show, given the praise received by Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. Now that it's getting bad reviews, I'm sure they are grasping at straws in order to keep the wheels from coming of the the thing before it even releases. They even went for the "We make shows for the fans, not the critics" defense.

I find the concept of not being able to root for a privileged white guy ridiculous.
I mean, come on... Ninety percent of pop culture heroes must be privileged white guys. Usually privileged white guys cast as underdogs by circumstances, yes, but still lilly-white, handsome and healthy.
Finn should really stick to lines like "see it and judge for yourself".

Pretty much You'd be hard pressed to find a more priveledged white guy than a Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark, yet Batman and Iron Man may be the two most popular characters in all of comicdom these days.

Usually privileged white guys cast as underdogs by circumstances, yes, but still lilly-white, handsome and healthy. Finn should really stick to lines like "see it and judge for yourself". Internet bullies are harassing the crap out of Finn Jones, and I think he's just grasping for any lifeline. Culture appropriation is a questionable concept, but folks are expanding it to a ridiculous degree. Culture itself is about exchange, so the idea that a white guy can't be a kung fu expert is pretty much antithetical to culture itself. Kung fu is a skill. It's not a genetic trait. If folks want to go after someone for the race of Danny Rand, it would be more just to go after showrunner Scott Buck, or Marvel TV's Jeph Loeb, or even Roy Thomas. But the witch hunt for a celebrity scalp means that Finn Jones is the one who wears the target. I'm going to watch and decide for myself, but I'm a little worried. On the one hand, I think all the public pressure could affect critics. On the other hand, Iron Fist is so low on the Tomato Meter right now that it probably goes beyond the casting controversy.
