One more episode to get through. It seems like it has taken me forever to watch Iron Fist. While there have been good moments, overall it is boring to me. I am more interested in Ward, Joy, and their father. No offense to fans of Finn Jones, but he seems miscast as Iron Fist.

Huge miscast It's clear that the guy was essentially chosen because he had a minor role in Game of Thrones. I mean, the fight choreography on his end is just laughable. Iron Fist might only be second to Shang-Chi as the greatest hand to hand fighter in the Marvel universe. Yet Jones looks like he could wander into some random Taekwondo center and get his ass handed to him by a 12 year old yellow belt. All they really had to do was give him his mask from the comics so they could get a competent stunt double/martial artist to perform the fighting scenes and the show would've been MUCH better off.

That'd be an easy solution, but it looks like they want to make a point about staying away from the masks. Only DD has one, because of his secret identity, and even he, didn't use it in season 1.

That's one of my issues with The Defenders It looks goofy (and cheap) having 3/4 of the group wearing regular street clothes while Daredevil is decked out in his traditional comics garb. I know they're trying to make the shows on Netflix more gritty and realistic in tone...but that kinda goes out the window when you have the group fighting a bunch of mystical ninjas being lead by a woman who is presumably thousands of years old. I didn't have a problem with Daredevil's look in Season 1 of his show. They were going for Miller's "Man without Fear" origin where he wore the black ninja-esque homemade outfit. I actually loved that.

Binging season 2 now. Misty and Colleen quickly became the two most interesting characters.

After finally getting back into Luke Cage 2, and mostly enjoying that, I've started on Iron Fist 2. Not wildly auspicious so far - Finn Jones is still wildly unconvincing in ... well, everything, but particularly fighting - he can't make a kick above knee level to save his life and some of his punches are still missing by feet, just as they did in his appearance in Cage 2.
Finished the first episode and my main takeaways: - Finn Jones is a terrible actor and a worse 'martial artist' (living weapon, my butt!) - The dialogue was unbelievably awful

7 eps in, and it isn't getting any better. It's a weird series - it's "Iron Fist the living weapon", but there's hardly any action in it, it's basically a Meachum family soap opera.

In my household we refer to the Iron Fist series as Fister and once you've finished a season you've been fisted.

Finshed the series. It set up a potentially interesting follow-up, which looked like Immortal Iron Fist territory, but the series had so many weak point that it was hard to get very exceited about it (even without knowing it had already been cancelled) First and foremost was Finn Jones: he's a very unconvincing actor, and an absolutely terrible fighter, and he dragged down every scene he was in. I wasn't terribly impressed with the Colleen actress either, though her fight scenes were a bit better. On the bright side, Ward always looked pretty comfortable in the role, and actually looks like he knows how to act. Above everything though, the series was just predictable and boring - it was more family business soap opera with a bit of (not very good) fighting than a superhero series.
It was a bit better than the first series, in some ways, not least by being that bit shorter and more focused, but neither of them are very good.

I just finished Season 1 of this. Meh. I watched it because I am a completionist and it was on the path to seeing all of the Netflix shows, but it is nothing I will ever consider revisiting or think of again.

I am still slogging my way through Season 2. I perked up a little when Misty Knight entered, and the Daughters of the Dragon got a good fight scene.
