I love me some Robert Johnson. In that case, you better come on, in my kitchen, 'cause it's going to be raining outdoors.

I just got surprised with a very significant pay raise at work. Our store manager recently quit out of nowhere to go somewhere else, as he was no longer happy working here. So of course corporate rushes the district manager out, afraid my other coworker and myself might quit with promises of pay raises. I have to say, after being at this job for almost 5 years with very little change in pay I didn't pay his words much mind. But I got a call from him today that the owner approved his request for my pay raise. I was thoroughly surprised at the amount.

I hope you're familiar with notalwaysright.com and retailhellunderground.com. Now I work in the oil and gas industry. In this supply end for mud pump parts for drilling rigs. This particular job is shipping and receiving mostly, with some secretarial work, since no one in the office wants to learn computers and the inventory system we use for transfers, sales orders, POs and work orders, etc. But I have worked retail in the past; full time and part time as a secondary job. And glancing at a few of those, it takes me back to those times. Like a for instance, a old crotchety gal tried to return a case of Coke that was flat, she claimed. Yet half the case had been consumed. Plus it was a Sunday and so the actual store manager was off. She wanted me to call him so he could tell me take it back and give her a refund. I was going to do no such thing, when she could come back Monday morning with her complaint. She screamed and ranted and wouldn't leave. It got close to calling the police she was being so disruptive. But she did finally leave. All for a, then, $5 case of Coke.

Your story would fit right in on either site.

Unfortunately it's Photoshopped. How would a person know if it's Photoshopped ? One would do a Google search to see if the picture exist in that or another form. In this case you'll find links that go to articles that show the original picture. My eye isn't that great but the spacing of the letters looks a bit off, because of the movement.

My God, when you see some of the pedantically argumentative and insulting posts that pass for discussion in certain social media comic groups, it sure makes me grateful for the respectful and intelligent tone of this place.
