I finally broke down and bought the 66 Batman series on DVD as a present to myself. It only amounted to around 43 dollars so I don't feel guilty using the money on a guilty pleasure. Man, when the series was first released it was over 100 bucks. It's not as bad as buying the entirety of Rocky & Bullwinkle like I did. But hey, don't feel bad about it, you bought something that you really wanted and that's all that matters
I'm kind of upset that no one airs Adam West Batman anymore, it used to come on MeTV and TV Land a lot I think
still is on ME TV. Early mornings. . . most often on the weekends, but typically every day (at least it was playing every day)

Doing right in difficult moments is never as easy as it sounds Shax. Don't second guess or doubt yourself as from what you share here we can all see the awesome dad you are. Thanks, my good man. Not doubting myself. Just hating not sharing actual Christmas with them. but you get to do 2nd Christmas (do it Hobbit themed!), and you can do New Years with them too! the kids won't remember the exact day. . the memory will be there that they spent time with you.

LONG before the series was finally made available on DVD, I purchased a bootleg edition and watched it so much that I literally wore down the discs. It may soon be time for me to get these too! ME TV shows two episodes (almost always the 2 parters) every early morning. I usually DVR them My antenna stopped being able to pick up Me-TV this year, and it kills me. Literally the ONLY thing I ever watched on live TV. I miss Svengoolie so much.

Have you checked out trying to get a convertor/booster box to enhance reception signals? My bedroom has poor reception as the seasons change I have to adjust my rabbit ears and rescan quite often.

From what is see, you make it Christmas every day for your kids. That means a lot to me, my friend. Thank you. But if you make your kids read Cerebus, I'll call child services on you...

The 66 Adam West Batman series is on my eventually get on Blu Ray list. I had a lot of fun watching syndicated episodes as a kid, and it planted some of the earliest seeds of what grew into my appreciation for both superheroes and camp. It's a low enough priority that I am not going to drop $50 unless I find myself with a gift card and nothing presently broken in my house (not bloody likely any time soon), a super sale bringing it below impulse buy range (pun not intended but appreciated now I see it) or just making a crap-ton more money.
Parenting ain't easy, Shax, and it has to be even harder doing it separately. Just know the kids will see the effort you put in, and that the day itself matters less than what you do to celebrate it.

My customers are generous with me at this time a year.

One of our local syndicated channels ran Batman in one-hour blocks when I was a kid, so that was must-see TV. I'll get the Blu Rays one day.
I did buy the complete Bullwinkle set instantly. I always hated watching the serials when broken up by the other cartoons, though, so the first thing I did was rip everything and burn my own sorted DVDs so I could watch the Bullwinkle serials straight through, and I have separate discs of the other features to dip into whenever I want.

It starts Monday January 4th at 6a-7a Monday thru Friday. It has a host with a puppet, a talking "toona" fish. Not certain what all they have access to as far as classic cartoon library but a commercial I saw spotlighted Warner Bro's, Tom and Jerry along with Popeye. Saturday will be 6a-7a Popeye and Friends (mix of old classics), 7a-8a Tom and Jerry and Friends (will presume MGM toons) and 8a-9a will be Bugs Bunny Show.

Every once in a while I actually take a look at the front page and layout here, and I just realize what a great job Shax and those that helped did in designing and building out this site. Thanks for making such a nice place to hang out.
