Well, the other shoe dropped. My wife was let go from her job today. She broke her ankle around 2 weeks ago. We have savings so I anticipate that we will be okay. Sorry to hear that. You definitely need to have an attorney look in to the firing. |

Bert - sorry to hear about your spouse's troubles with the surgery aftermath. Praying for a quick recovery.
Icc - not a lawyer, so I won't weigh in on that, but praying you and your wife are able to weather this financial storm while she recovers.

By law in NY you are supposed to clear and remove the snow from in front of your house/ apartment 4 hours after it stops snowing. This picture is the front of one of my customers home. This is day 5 after the storm.  |

Could be that the home-owner is ill or disabled. Also, one thing I don't miss about living in New York is how lawsuit-happy everyone is. If I were a homeowner on Long Island today, I'd rather take the potential fine than the potential lawsuit that might come from my shoveling the sidewalk, a patch of it icing over, and someone slipping. Sure sucks for the friendly neighborhood postal carrier, though. I'm sorry. |

The footsteps you see are them leaving and returning to their place. The law is to protect people from being injured by lazy people. In this case , I haven't delivered any mail to them yet. I refuse to break a bone for irresponsible people. |

Sorry I haven't been around much the last couple of weeks, but with my power wheelchair on the fritz (the controller died fter nearly 12 years of flawless service) I don't have the energy for long sessions at the keyboard. I won't bore you with the details, but daily living in my manual chair puts a tremendous strain on my joints and back. Don't look for me to be active again until after the 17th, the day my power chair is scheduled to return. Until then, best wishes to all, especially Cap, bert, and bone. I'll hang in there, guys, if you will.
