tartanphantom & Icctrombone it's truly spectacular. you certainly will get more out of it if you're a DC Comics fan, as there are all kinds of hidden nods (and characters) that are just there in the background as fun little easter eggs. But as a film itself? it's really amazing. it was absolutely tailored to a TV watching crowd, with the film broken up into "chapters". . so very simple to watch a few chapters, then stop and go back to finish later, or the next day. I watched it all the way thru the 1st time, only pausing at the "chapter" breaks for a bathroom break. the film flies by and is hands down the best DC film yet - and I even enjoyed it more than the Avengers Endgame film.
-- and I'd say it's about 80% new film. (maybe closer to 85%) there are some scenes that will look very familiar, and there is some (very little) of the same footage. but most of it is brand new footage that fills in quite a bit of character motivation, and extends some scenes to great effect.
It's good that most of it is new because the first version broke my heart with how bad it was.

After the Summer Solstice, we have a season called Summer. After the Autumnal Equinox, we have a season called Autumn. After the Winter Solstice, we have a season called Winter. After the Vernal Equinox, we ought to have a season called Vern.

What to do- There's a comic show in nearby New Jersey andI am out of wet Dog food , so I'm thinking of going to Walmart to pick up the food and attend the show. What's keeping me away is the thought of waiting on a line to get into the show with a mask on. I have just about all I need in my collection and end up buying books I just read and dump afterwards.

Have to confront the addiction bro. Alcoholics don't go to bars or liquor stores. If you can't say no to buying when you are there it's better to avoid going to a comic convention. The one thing Covid and unemployment did for me last year was help me walk away from hitting the LCS regularly. While I was following less series, if I browsed the new issues on the wall I was still managing to find things to read and buy. I haven't bought any comic book stuff since last fall outside of the 2 Eternals trades this month from Amazon which had been on pre-order since last year. I have a couple Archie 1000 pagers, a Usagi Yojimbo Saga on pre-order and the ONLY new comic trade I ordered in 2021 so far has been the upcoming Kirby Omac. Possibly will order the Marvel Omnibus collecting the classic original Marvel run 'cuz, the Severin's, Ploog, Andru arwork ya know?!?

Well, I have a comics-related problem. There is a local "store" that sells your comics for you online. They are basically a warehouse with an office up front, and you can either sell outright for pennies on the dollar or put it on consignment where they will basically market and sell it for you, and split the after-cost profits. You get more over a longer time and don't have to deal with it yourself.
Great for me! Except around last Fall, they stopped sending me updates or checks. I expected it would slow down after they sold my key and hot books, so didn't notice until recently. Over the last few weeks I have sent a couple emails and gotten no answer. Today, I contacted them through their eBay store, contact form on website, sent another email and left a voice message, all more stern than the previous communications.
I can see by recently online activity that someone is still active with it. I am going to give them another day or two to answer, but beyond that, not sure what my next steps will be. I do have a consignment contract with them, plus the previous emails and my contact attempts, so I have some documentation.
I could show up to the store maybe. Not sure if police would be interested or if it is just a civil thing. I didn't have a stellar collection or anything, but they have a lot of my books, and I want my money or my property.

I'd be shocked if the police would get involved in any way with what is essentially a breach of contract case. Your best bet is to go to the office and find out what's going on. If that doesn't work it's possible a demand letter from an attorney in the area might wake them up. Depending on the value of the books a small claims action or a lawsuit might be necessary.

That's what I was thinking. Ugh. Even if they have my items it's just breach of contract, not some kind of criminal theft? I suppose they'd say the books are on consignment, and when we sell them we'll let you know. I suppose it would be different if I went there and demanded my stuff back and they refused maybe? I hope it doesn't come to that.

I hope it doesn't come to that. At this point we can't even be sure it's a breach of contract. If you were to demand the books back (and that wasn't a breach on your part) and they refused it's a much better case for a theft. My experience still tells me that police and prosecutors don't like to get involved in things that smell like contract disputes.

I hope you get your property back , impulse . It sounds like they got out of dodge. This reminds me of one time when I paid a bookstore to order a book for me and it took a long time , so I visited them to see what was happening , and they were closing up and going out of business. No call, nothing. They gave me my money back that day.

Fun! Well, thank you for weighing in. You might also want to get in touch with the local Better Business Bureau if you have one in the area and see if there are other similar complaints against their business. That an give you more ammo if you retain an attorney to try to resolve the issue. -M
