I ran across this on the net. The last picture taken of Laurel and Hardy.

Well, I have a comics-related problem. There is a local "store" that sells your comics for you online. They are basically a warehouse with an office up front, and you can either sell outright for pennies on the dollar or put it on consignment where they will basically market and sell it for you, and split the after-cost profits. You get more over a longer time and don't have to deal with it yourself. Great for me! Except around last Fall, they stopped sending me updates or checks. I expected it would slow down after they sold my key and hot books, so didn't notice until recently. Over the last few weeks I have sent a couple emails and gotten no answer. Today, I contacted them through their eBay store, contact form on website, sent another email and left a voice message, all more stern than the previous communications.... If they use eBay, try leaving a less than flattering review, with no stars or 1 star. I think vendors are quick to respond to negative reviews that are posted publicly, as on eBay, yelp, etc.

Welp I'm officially half-vaccinated as the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine is now in my arm. 21 days until dose 2.

Somewhat ironically, on the day I got my first vaccine dose, I found out our county now leads the state in new Covid cases. Several of the chain fast food restaurants on the stretch of Main Street where the bank my wife works at is located that had recently opened up their dining rooms over the last few weeks have now shut them down again, and our McDonald's on that stretch, which used to be open 24/7 has blocked off hours where they are only taking Doordash orders and no other drive thru or dine in business because they cannot get enough healthy workers to staff at a level to do more than that. It's a stark reminder that though we may see light at the end of the tunnel, this thing ain't over yet and no fat ladies are warming up their vocal chords to sing just yet.

Well, positive update! They answered and sent me summaries and are mailing the next check. That's all I needed. Some kind of response. I suspect most of my good stuff is already sold since they've had my books for over a year now, but it was the lack of info and communication that bugged me. I also doubt my collection would have been worth the expense of dealing with an attorney, so glad they got back to me.
I also got my first dose yesterday!

Shameless Plug Dept. This might potentially be of interest, as we were discussing my old (but newly reformed) indie band just a few pages back. The debut album by the Kynd (the indie/Britpop band I was in back in the '90s) is being reissued on CD on 23rd April, with added bonus tracks and -- for the first time -- the lyrics to all the songs. You can pre-order the CD via BandCamp at the link below. Initial copies come in a limited edition numbered version, but these are going fast, so be quick if you want one. We'd be thrilled to get your order: we wrote very catchy indie-pop songs and should've been much bigger than we were. Thanks.

Been feeling a little under the weather the past couple of days, so I'm off to get my first COVID test. Wife is forcing me to do it, even though I am feeling significantly better this morning, but she's concerned about our daughters (she's already gotten both of her vaccine shots).
Fingers crossed it was just the rapid change in the weather here and not the Rona.

And if it is the Rona, good to know you had a fairly mild case and are already on the mend, but hoping it is not.

I'm cutting back on coffee and alcohol. I don't think it's a coincidence that I acquired an irregular heartbeat after overindulging in both this past year.
Hard as sobriety can be most times, it's preferable to a stroke or cardiac arrest.

I love coffee, but it ain't great for you if done to excess (like most things).

I won’t live in a world without coffee. Or mayonnaise.

I have never seen or heard of salad cream before. Going to google the ingredients now.
