Welp, I'm working from home today as the northern half of Georgia is going into a state of emergency in anticipation of Winter Stormageddon 2015!!!!! So, I'm working in my PJs and sipping coffee at home listening to music on my fancy shmancy speakers, and I get to visit the baby, my wife, and the dogs on breaks. All-in-all, I'd say this day is off to a great start. The university got closed today due to predicted weather conditions. I'm in Dawson County (GA) where the snowfall has just begun in earnest. Worked today with no problems and made it home just before the white stuff began. Now just hope we don't lose power.

Yeah, I haven't had work called off due to weather in several years. And that's here in Wisconsin where we've had a number of days that the high didn't get above 0 degrees (Fahrenheit, because we're Americans and we don't do the Metric system) and wind chills have regularly been hitting -35 degrees. As Jeff Dunham said, "We're a hardy people". Or stupid. It's a toss-up.

well, my doctor put me out of work for a few weeks with a possible rotary cuff injury. I don't mind missing the never ending cold but I hate being injured.

So the kids wanted Little Ceasar's pizza. They now have a bacon wrapped crust deep dish pepperoni pizza. I think I might be the only American who doesn't grasp the obsession of adding bacon to every kind of food.

Bacon tastes great although it's very bad for your health.

Bacon tastes great although it's very bad for your health. Bacon's one of those foods that I like when I want it, but I find it unfathomable that people want it on everything. Kind of like Ranch. Ranch is okay (Blue Cheese is better) but I don't need to dip everything I eat in Ranch. I do like bacon on my pizza with anchovies and black olives. I'm just not sure about whole slabs of bacon wrapped around the crust.

When it comes to food, I've never understood the mentality that says, if you like something you're sure to like the taste of it added to any other food conceivable. I like peanut butter, for example, but I don't like peanut butter flavoured sauces or desserts. I can see myself enjoying bacon added to some things but not every single damn thing there is.

The foods they don't work with are, however, in the minority. If I liked Little Caesar's pizzas (don't care for the sauce), I'd give their pizza a try. I've even had maple & bacon frosted cupcakes, which were actually pretty good. But then I was enjoying both bacon and ranch long before they were cool. <Insert bacon/banana joke here>

Though I get accused of (mostly by Dan and Slam) of not having one at all. So that just sounds unappetizing. But, I DO like Little Ceasar's deep dish pizza, and I like spending less on food every chance I get, so if the kids like it, and it's cheap that's great for me. And I grew up eating Little Ceasar's pizza so there's that too. I know what you mean about sauces though. It's why I don't like Papa John's. But bacon has never really been a heavily consumed food for me. I like it with my fried eggs, or on a burger or as a pizza topping but that's about it. Nine times out of ten, if I do get a taste for bacon I have to go buy some or eat at a restaurant, as it's rarely in the fridge. Now you want to do something crazy (or at least some people probably think it is) and buy a buffalo chicken pizza ... I'll tear that up. :-)

I'm not crazy about Little Caesar's sauce, but I absolutely can't stand Papa John's. I rarely have bacon in the house either. But I do like the sweet and salty combo. About the only snack I ever get out of the vending machines is "Sweet & Salty Mix" which is peanuts, sunflower seeds, raisins, M&Ms, etc. Quite tasty.
