Harrison Ford in critical condition after a plane crash in California. My best wishes to him and his family Wow! He appears to have a few gashes on his head. Hope he's okay. Fortunately he appears to be in better condition than originally thought. He's described as "fair to moderate" and "expected to make a full recovery". Link to article: link

I read that he saved his own life with his piloting skills.

I read that he saved his own life with his piloting skills. Indeed. And possibly others by avoiding hitting nearby houses.

I know there's cool stuff, but if you fall down the rabbit hole, there are easily a couple thousand of those kids, and they're very active users. I've had to unfollow countless blogs because of all the "DIE CIS SCUM" and "F_YOU WHITEY" rage on there. Being told to check my privilege by a rich teenager because I could never understand his struggle is annoying to say the least. I imagine if you're just there to enjoy the art and comics you can avoid it, but if you express any interest in politics or social justice you'll quickly find yourself overwhelmed with this type of thing. What kind of searches do you do? Because I have never once come across a blog like that. Agreed. Poison and vitriol on FB is what drove me from it. CCF is my comics refuge and I recently went to Tumblr for comics art. I haven't come across any hate posts, but, I'm not in social justice, politics or current events. I don't think anyone could be involved in those threads where emotions are highly charged without encountering that.

Long story short, to get to the point quickly ... My wife went to the hospital ER Thursday night cause her face was hurting. She couldn't figure if it was a toothache or an est infection. Turns out it was a real bad sinus infection.
I go to the pharmacy yesterday after work. Her state provided coverage only covers her medicine for her bipolar and insomnia. So I'm buying this medicine out of pocket. Antibiotics and pain pills. It was $170, which she had to have, the amount wasn't what infuriated me it was the individual cost when I looked at the receipt. $159 for the antibiotics. The one thing she absolutely had to have to kill the infection. The pain pills, the kind that people can and so use recreationally $11. Seems kind of a backasswards way for an uninsured person to afford the medicine they need. My wife doesn't have the high pain tolerance I do and at least the pain pills weren't $159 too. But if I had to choose between the two based on how much money I have it should be $10 for antibiotics and $159 for pain pills. Especially since the antibiotic is 20 year old generic brand.

That is f'ed up. I was under the impression antibiotics were quite cheap, too. But with universal healthcare in Germany, the most I ever pay for prescription meds is 5 € per package.

Between the price point and the ease to get a prescription for these kinds of drugs, if one is inclined, it seems the US government is spending a big too much time and effort demonizing pot while the same time crying "how did my kids get these pills?"

Ah, but those drug users are mostly suburban white kids and their moms!

Oh, it's this weekend in the US? We don't do it till the end of the month. That means the time difference when I call my ex is 7 hours now instead of 6.

Just stopped in to say "Hi!" to everybody and confirm I'm still alive and kicking. Up to my eyeballs in 1940s Dells just now, as well as multiple books on the Home Front during WW2. Also gearing up for Emerald City, and trying to get somebody, ANYBODY in a position to help to give a shit about my ongoing wheelchair issues.
Cei-U! I summon the update!
