Oh, sweet CHRIST. I have been on the phone with the insurance company for over half an hour. I've been on hold for over 25 of those minutes. I was on hold so long that the phone forgot what it was doing and started ringing and had transferred me over to some other place that had nothing to do with what I was calling about. It was, like, a different dept or something. I cannot handle this. so sorry that sucks

Rough week of news here, my mother's significant other had to be rushed to the hospital earlier in the week with a blockage in his colon, and they discovered the mass was cancerous when they removed it, so he will be starting chemo as soon as he recovers from the surgery and the incisions heal, and yesterday, my wife's cousin's 18 year old step son was killed in an automobile accident. SO a bit of a subdued household this week. -M good thoughts and prayers sent to you and your family friend .

I will be thinking of you and thanks for sharing this message to us.

I spent 2.5 hours on the phone with the insurance company today.
I need a vacation and a bottle of wine. I am traumatized.

Cheese and Crackers People
So I'm shutting down my PC early this afternoon and lo and behold a message says leave the PC on as Windows installs some updates. I did a doubletake at the amount of updates
123. No lie 123 updates
I've never seen the likes of that amount in my life. And the first one is taking a long time to boot
So I leave and then return about 3 hours later. Still about 10 more to go. Another 45 minutes or so and its finished and shuts itself down. Power it back up and now have to wait another half hour as it configures everything.
Well I'm finally back. Microsoft rolls out these update packages over about weeks time Curious if anyone has experienced this massive update already or will in the next few days. The only message I got was the IE Browser is updated. I know I can go into my security programming and see the names of all the updates that occurred. Maybe later

I had to restart my computer twice in two days for updates, but it was only 10 or 12 at a time.

Maybe later My desktop has been trying to update for a couple of days. It spends a long time trying and then gets stuck and gives up and then "reverts" to the prior version. The whole process takes about 45 minutes and results in absolutely nothing happening. The current incarnation on Windows is an absolute mess.

Sympathies to everyone going through a rough patch. My niece Karly, the one who's "inherited" big chunks of my collection and was with us at the CCF dinner earlier this month, was run over by her own car in a freak accident yesterday. She has a concussion, a crushed ankle, a broken leg, a lump on her head the size of a baseball, a horrific case of road rash, plus various abrasions and contusions. She's lucky to be alive. As it is, she's going to require reconstructive surgery on her ankle and will be laid up for at least 8 weeks. Since I just bought a new tower, I'm going to give her Kurtificus Maximus, the tower you folks bought me a few years back, loaded with comic scans to keep her entertained while she's down.
Cei-U! I summon the moral of this story: don't buy your car's transmission off Craig's List!

When it rains it pours, sounds like a lot of people are feeling it right now.
