And in a completely different vein, an old CBR buddy is running for office in Georgia: www.voteloren.com/Strangely, his Issues page does not mention his stand on Convergence or Secret Wars.

Exciting movie. Harkens back to the "Disaster Movie" craze in the 70's.

Have an exam in 2 hours. Going to see San Andreas after. Could you please share some your thoughts about San Andreas if you have a chance to do so - I'm thinking about seeing it too. One more thing, your avatar of the cute kitty kat is so cool. I just love the way its purrs along! I like to watch it for a second or two.

Am I the only one who was surprised when they found Roland Emmerich was NOT directing San Andreas?

So two days ago I was walking down an outdoor staircase called Tippen-Tappen-Tönchen: And a small piece of street art triggered the memory of how my then-boyfriend and I had joked around with it just a few weeks ago when we first found it... An image of a depressed little ghost, and J. stood next to it and tried to do the same face etc. Seeing it again made me really melancholic and nostalgic, so I tried out my new cell phone's cam and image editing software and created this little pic labeled "you're missing." ... and emailed it to him with no further comment. He wrote back a day later "Looks like you solved the mystery of that graffito. PS: So do you." So... should I get my hopes up just a little, or is it over in spite of the fact that he misses me?

Does anyone know of fun things to do in Charlotte N Carolina? I'm thinking of going to the Her I was in the downtown area for work in the fall, and it was pretty sparse. There's the NASCAR Hall of Fame (which was open exactly the same hours I had to work, sadly). I think they have the regular stuff (aquarium, kids museum, etc), too.

I'm not one for relationship advice, as I haven't had many than the current. I guess that would depend on why he left no matter what he told you. Maybe it's something out of his hands. I stopped seeing a gal back a long time ago for what I realized much later for a very bad reason. I am not sure that the courtship would have went on if I hadn't or what would have come. But I do wonder what might have been different in either her or my life had even if it ended I would have had the wisdom to do it better. The graffiti reminds me of these little critters ...

Wow, he is clearly one of them. Where is this from? The 1999 anime Princess Mononoke. I somehow missed it in the height of my anime watching and didn't discover it until the mid 00's on cable. I've only seen the English dubbed versions starring a well know cast like Gillian Anderson, Billy Bob Thornton, Keith David, Minnie Driver and Claire Danes. As well as John DiMaggio well known as Bender, just around or before Futurama started. Very good movie. Highly recommended for it's Japanese history and fantasy elements. It's about the struggle of man vs nature, so to speak. And man's ability to consume everything and more, destroying nature and angering the forest gods. Those little critters are a tree spirit of some kind. I cannot remember their specific name, but I do believe it was mentioned in the movie.

Just took my dog on a walk, and she was such a wicked little jerk. And I found out why. She had to poop. And I was minus poop bags. She squatted and took a crap on someone's newly mowed lawn. And I didn't have poop bags. Funny thing is, I have a sling pack that I carry on walks because this is, basically, me when I walk my dogs: I have everything from my wallet to hot pink vet wrap, to a ridiculously large dog water bottle. But as my dog is squatting there, I'm all but dumping the entire contents of this bag onto their lawn, looking for poop bags. I had to hurry and leave. I was so embarrassed. I had to be THAT a-hole. *sniffle*

No. But that doesn't lessen the guilty feeling.

San Andreas has some great scales of action and among the best CGI I've seen although it seems to take priority over scientific fact...but nevertheless, the 3D premium is worth it. The Hoover Dam and tsunami sequences are quite thrilling! I don't want to say to much and spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet.
The Rock is quite good as a hero, but remember, don't go in expecting Oscar caliber material, it's more of a loud, entertaining thrill ride than anything else. Of course, I'm wondering what he'd really do in a 9.0 earthquake.
