I'm not normally a violent person but at this moment I wish ?i could shove a loaded shotgun in the mouths of every sitting Republican politician and blow their collective heads off. Thanks to their ceaseless efforts to f**k over anyone who isn't a rich, white, straight, able-bodied male, I can look forward to serious injury when the manual wheelchair I'm currently stuck with collapses because, you see, their new Medicare regulations stick me in a catch-22 that blocks me from purchasing a replacement. I can't even let friends or family buy me one because it would count as income and I'd be penalized. My Social and Health Services caseworker was actually sobbing when she broke the news to me a little while ago... but she did say the new regs are being revisited after a virtual tsunami of protests from people like her, disability advocacy groups and even the medical supply vendors themselves (who, under the current set-up, have to provide the equipment up front and eat the cost if Medicare denies their claim). So there's some small hope, at least. Now if only my old chair will hold on that long... Cei-U! I've always known that modern Republicans would prefer that folks like me just die and get it over with. Now the feeling is mutual. If you buy one and claim it as a golf cart to use at a private club, the Republicans would subsidize it

If I could afford to buy one, none of this would be an issue. Cei-U! Clever idea, though!

Leaving today for my daughter's wedding back in Iowa. It'll be good to see everyone again.
Talk with y'all again Monday.

Appalling and outrageous that you should be denied so basic and necessary an item because of petty, execrable bureaucracy Kurt. Yet another example of the GOP's utter paucity of compassion. The Constitution lists "promot(ing) the general welfare" as a key element in achieving a "more perfect union." It's too bad you need a wheelchair instead of the shotgun you mentioned; they could probably have one to you by close of business. /s

I was assigned a new pair of ladies' wolverine steel-tipped boots for an audit I'm doing in a warehouse (mandatory footwear according to the health & safety dept). Although I'm more in the office compiling data and extracting reports than actually roaming around through the aisles.
This takes me upwards of 220+ pairs not including flip-flops.

Now, when you say "wolverine steel-tipped boots", are you referring to the traditional steel-toed variety of work boot or a special version that has actual steel-tipped claws extending from the front of the boot? If it's the latter, that would just be awesome.

I remember my disappointment as a kid when I realized the Wolverine shoes had nothing whatsoever to do with the X-Men.

I'm going to have to let my local country mechanic look at my truck...again. Only four or five months ago I had a coil replaced and all has been going fine until two nights ago. I'm really hoping it's not the transmission. I inherited this truck (a 94 Ford 1500) from my grandfather and it's a tad long in the tooth. Why does this always happen when money gets tight?

Well that's a relief. Instead of having to replace the transmission I simply had to have the mechanic repair a hose and put back some transmission fluid. I'll take handing over $25 bucks over forking out $800+ any day.

I noticed some posts 'disappear' while browsing not too long ago, is that a forum quirk or something?

I noticed some posts 'disappear' while browsing not too long ago, is that a forum quirk or something? Yes, posts have definitely disappeared. My latest entry in the Word Association game makes no sense now.

That is odd. My posts about my automotive issues are gone. It's good to know that this is a technical glitch. I've had this happen seemingly for no reason on other forums over the years and assumed that some overly touchy moderator took a dislike to some of my comments. "What?! He likes the sun?! I can't have this filth on my forum." DELETE
