I will have to upload the picture (if I decide I am comfortable enough doing that), but I have a callous so thick on the tip of my thumb, from setting metal spots, that it can leave a dent in my thumb from pressing spots in. It's gross. I showed my kid and he said my thumb looked like a flat tire. lol. Is there such thing as "callous porn"? Or is all porn just callous? I <3 U.

Well, this is awkward. My sleepy little smalltown has made it into the news bulletins on this final day of the year, on account of a good number of houseboats going Tower of Pisa : This is the result of a serious drop in the water level of the Maas river, which was caused when a big barge damaged a weir several 20 kilometers downriver. They're still assessing the damage. I know the holidays can put you off-balance, but this is silly.

Here you go: You win. This is not a win that I really want, though. LOL. I should take more pride in how much it took to create that callous. It's just...LOOK AT IT. lol.

This movie was one of my Christmas presents. I used to watch it with my mom. I am going to watch it today, drink wine, and probably sob my eyes out.

My parent's watched it at some point. I usually stayed in my room. I probably wasn't allowed to watch it or something. My brother got around that when he would babysit me though, which is when I saw things like Aliens. Yessss. My brothers took me to see Jaws 3 in the theater. I was soooo young. And I thought my mom was going to kill them because for, like, 3 weeks, she had to go with me everytime I had to use the toilet. I mean, I was convinced Jaws was going to come out of the toilet and get me. That dang movie poster!

Looking at Goodreads this is the lowest total of books and pages that I've read since 2012. I joined Goodreads in 2010 and my reading went up progressively to the peak in 2013 and has declined each year since then. I haven't been religious about keeping track of comic book reading, but I suspect it would have a similar trend.
I'm sure that playing a huge amount of Europa Universalis 4 has had an effect this year and last had a definite effect.

I'm sure that playing a huge amount of Europa Universalis 4 has had an effect this year and last had a definite effect. I experienced a similar decline in comics read this year, which I can attribute to two things directly. The first is that I read the five books in the Song of Fire and Ice series, plus the collection of three short stories set before the series, which amounted to over 4000 pages of dense prose consumed this year. The second was my rediscovery of playing Magic:The Gathering this year, which has taken up a lot of time, particularly over the past 3 months or so. Hoping next year will remain level at least, especially since I am done with the books, although rumor is the next one in the series is going to be released in March or April 2017 and is supposed to be well over 1000 pages.

Only an hour and change to go, but 2016 isn't done sucking big time!
I just drove five and a half hours to get to the bedside of my mom in the emergency ward. It's either a new bout of the infection that kept her on intravenous antibiotics for three weeks in early december, or a brand new infection. Whatever be the case, she's in terrible pain and I hate that.
For crying out loud. It's irrational to be angry at an arbitrarily defined length of time like a year, but... I am.
