When, I get a cold any dang cold ... I'm hard of hearing and when I get a dang cold, any dang cold ... I can't hear a dang thing at all. It's so bad, I had to drink a ton of water to get my ears unplug so that I can hear anything at all. I rather have the flu than the dang cold. The Dang Cold is the worst sickness that I can get ... nuff said!  |

Ah, yes! Classic Simpsons! My favorite show of all time. It's so hard to find other fans of the classic material. While it is simply impossible for me to pick a single best episode, this is one of the very best clips from my current favorite episode.

I finally got to talk to a Weiser representative on the phone, regarding the "lifetime warranty" of my non-functional door handle. I had to write a description of the problem and send pictures of the handle and lock, with photocopies of the ten year old bill of sale. (I had to do that twice, because upon the first attempt "some numbers weren't clear enough").
Today I received a mechanism meant to replace the part that likely went wrong.
Naturally, it's for a different handle. It even says so in big letters in the notice : "NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WEISER COLLECTION LOCKS".
Honestly, I am so effin' tired of being angry all the time. Is it so f&?%$ hard to f%?%$#$ honour a warranty and send the proper f?%$# piece? At what point is a company supposed to give up and say "we'll just pay you back"?

It's fairly low grade, so I'm hoping it doesn't go for anything outrageous. Even a low-grade copy of that one is out of my price range. But happily I discovered that those early Wally Wood issues were reprinted in books like Marvel Super-Heroes, so I think I have most of them now. |

An update: The earliest I can get to a dentist is February 3, which means I need to abstain from long hours (well, any hours, truthfully) on the computer between now and then. In the interim, I'm working on setting up for speech-to-text. It's not the greatest of solutions but it's that or choose between my teeth and my writing career. So I will continue to be a mostly phantom presence here until my appointment. Cei-U! I summon the stone cold drag! |

It went for $61 and looked to be right around the 2.5- 3 range. I like to allow myself one "big" book every year, and this year it's probably going to be DD #7. |
