I went to my first comic convention in over two years this past weekend. I'll admit I had a panic attack in the beginning of the show, as I haven't been this close to these many people in a closed space, I had to hang out in the convention hallway for a bit until I calmed myself down. Once I settled myself down, it was great seeing my friends I haven't seen in two years. Got some comics signed by John Cassaday but bought only from one person, the great Mike Kunkel. I'm a big fan of Herobear & the Kid and all of Mike's all ages books he creates. Mike put together the Herobear Heritage hardcover of 20 years of Herobear stories and added goodies; over 600 pages in a slipcase HC. I also bought a Herobear beanie, because why not! But the capper was the Herobear Viewmaster! Mike made a brand new original story for the Viewmaster! Also, I've been wanting a Viewmaster for some time. Some thoughts about the con: - Extremely well run. Checked everyone's vax card. Also tested on site as well. - CGC prices were effing ridiculous. Prices pushed up close to 20% on books compared what's the market value. I was ready to buy books but everyone priced themselves out. - Original artwork was pricy. I was extremely tempted to purchase some Cassaday art; I really was but didn't have anything to carry it in. - I felt like a human again seeing my friends.

We've gotten in a good bit of modern comics in at work, so I scooped up a couple of Captain America tpbs for myself. Castaway In Dimension Z has been a fun read so far

I haven't read it yet, but purchased the newest Cursed Pirate Girl. A quick glance through (my phone image quality is poor though):

Batman '66 is a series I've been iffy on because the tv series just got that more campy as I got older....but I got 3 new HCs at about 1/3 cover so what the heck...

I backed Tom DeFalco & Ron Frenz's The R.I.G.H.T. Project issue one in November and the comic has been sent it seems (looks like 38 pages with three stories, all written by DeFalco with art by Frenz for the first two and Ron Lim art on the last one). I just got the digital file through e-mail today. I don't know if my physical copy has been shipped yet though. The superhero character it stars, Mr. Right, first appeared in DeFalco's Randy O'Donnell is the M@n in 2001 for Image Comics (a series Ron Lim drew, but Frenz did the art for the Mr. Right flip-book story). I am a fan of the DeFalco/Frenz combo, so I look forward to reading this (EDIT: I have now read it and am posting my thoughts in the "what modern comic have you read lately" thread).

Looks nice. Wouldn't mind getting this myself, but there's no digital only option at the Indiegogo page.

Yeah, I would pay for a digital copy too. Not to be cheap, but the only option seems to be the digital copy + pin option, which forces you to pay shipping for the pin, more than doubling the price of the order

Not to be cheap, but the only option seems to be the digital copy + pin option, which forces you to pay shipping for the pin, more than doubling the price of the order And in my case, since I'm living abroad, the price shoots through the roof: a $30 shipping charge gets added to the pledge automatically, regardless of whether it's the physical comic book or the pin.

Bought volume 1 of the new Moon Knight and volume 2 of S.W.O.R.D.
Very annoyed with S.W.O.R.D.: v1 included issues #1-5, v2 includes issues #7-11 (+ a Cable oneshot). Issue 6 happens to have the event that is critical for the entire series (and the upcoming X-Men: Red sequel/follow-up).
