The second volume of Marini's Noir Burlesque, which I will probably read soon.
The first volume of a series by Rick Remender & Greg Tocchini called Low. I haven't read anything by them but I've heard of the creators before, though not this particular series. But I saw it at a cheap price, used, and I like science fiction so I picked it up. Not sure when I'll get to it, though.

I have Scooby-Doo Team Up trades but I wanted to get the Batman ones to keep. They really are DC's best books.

Went to WonderCon this Saturday. Mainly I went there to get a couple of books signed and see some friends. Superstar Adam Hughes was a guest of honor and was there signing and selling artwork. While I dream of owning a page or cover from him, I'll have to have that on hold. So I got the next best thing. A got a gorgeous remarque from him on this Catwoman 80 page special. Along with getting some Hughes books signed, I walked away with a smile knowing I have a great piece of art.

Sunday at WonderCon. I only went for about a half day at the show but I found a couple of goodies. Some classic comics (I'll post those over there) but I picked up a couple of modern goodies. I usually don't buy variants or even modern comics but this Mandalorian cover by E.M Gist is so amazing not to say no to and was nice enough to sign it.

Not sure that Dark Horse would soon reprint the IDW Usagi Yojimbo comics, and seeing that I had already given in and purchased the first few TPBs, I bought Crossroads and The Green Dragon yesterday. I prefer Usagi in back and white, but what's a fan to do?

My FCBD 2023 Haul... Took advantage of the sale to buy a replacement copy of Vol. 2 of the SiP Pocket Edition as the copy I had had a printing error and reprinted pages 97-128 instead of pages 129-160. The new printing did not have that error. I also picked up my week's pull (4 books-Shazam, Parker Girls, Usagi/TMNT and Avengers War Across Time) and some silver size bags while I was there (they were out of boards). -M

My FCBD 2023 Haul... My shop had a limit of ten freebies per customer, so I couldn't pick up as many as you did. Still, it looks like I got four that you didn't - Girl Taking Over from DC, Spider-Man/Venom from Marvel, Crimebuster from Comic House/Lev Gleason, and Mexikid from Dial Books/Penguin Random House. There were others there that I would have picked up if not for the limit. The shop was packed; when they opened the line went all the way around the building. It was great to see so many happy people at a comic shop!

Lady Beatnik and I ended up going to two shops for FCBD 2023. We started at Comic Warehouse but they were out of the Nightmare Before Christmas issue, so we popped over to Age of Comics.

It was great to see so many happy people at a comic shop! I didn't see the Crimebusters book at our shop, but I was in a hurry so could have missed it. Lonestar was offering FCBD books with purchases, so I picked up a handful of books and selected that one as one of my freebies. Our shop is usually pretty good about letting folks take as many different titles as they want, as long as they are not taking stacks of the same book. I would up with multiple copies of the Conan and Frazetta books because after I went through the table sand grabbed the freebies I wanted, I picked up my pull list and the owners had already pulled those 2 for me because he knows I was excited for those 2 books. Things like that are part of the reason why I continue to support Super Fly Comics and Games in Yellow Springs, Tony & Jared are just good people struggling in a tough market, but they care about their customers and their community. -M

I hope to visit Yellow Springs someday. My wife has been a member of Yellow Springs Friends Meeting since the days when she spent several months a year at Wright-Patterson AFB.

My store had a limit of 3 FCBD books per person so I got Red Sonja, Conan and Frazettaverse. Red Sonja was mediocre, even though it also reprints an old Marvel story. Conan has nice art and Frazettaverse seems a bit cheesy but I was curious.
Animal Castle looked good but I'll just wait for a collected edition.
