I had a handful of the Amazing Heroes swimsuit issues from the late '80s (only because I was a subscriber) and I was never thrilled with them... and I'm saying this as someone who used to draw and sell super-heroine posters based on pictures from Playboy.
Cei-U! Big waste of time and paper, if'n you axe me!

Cei-U! Big waste of time and paper, if'n you axe me! Same here for me as i had the Amazing Heroes subscription too. While i thought a one and done might have been okay and was mildly entertaining (some of the idea's and interpretations was humorous) once it took on a life of its own and became an annual thing it quickly became filled with too much bad art or bad joke/concepts being submitted. It became redundant and ridiculous and over the top way quickly.

I still occasionally pull out my old copies of "Amazing Heroes" to read. . .LOVED that magazine. Before we moved, I used to occasionally read thru an old CBG too. . the tabloid ones, not the terrible "Wizard lite" magazine it became. but most of those went to recycling when we moved (not worth it to me to transport to the new house, but have a hall closet full of "Amazing Heroes" that made the move with us

They were a rare example of class in a time when the medium was sorely lacking any.

I was never a regular reader of Amazing Heroes, but I picked up a few of their preview issues out've junk bins for the covers: I ran across some Amazing Heroes Swimsuit issues on ebay the other day and that is what prompted the idea for this thread.

In my humble opinion, no one looks hotter in swimsuits than Archie's Girls!

I think I had one or two of the Amazing Heroes issues, but I don't remember what they were like. As for the 90s swimsuit issues of comics...I don't have a problem with the concept but the art styles that were popular at the time (Liefeld, etc.) were just horrid. If they had been done by people like Frank Cho or Adam Hughes that would have been a different story.

My opinion of swimsuit issues is the same now as it was then: a total waste of money! I could never understand why any self-respecting horny teenager would buy what was, essentially, a comic book masturbatory aid, when they could take the same money down to their local seedy backstreet newsagents and pick up a proper porno mag! To each their own, I guess, but I certainly never bought any swimsuit issues. Penthouse, Razzle and Knave on the other hand...

I can't get sexually excited about squiggles on paper
With the exception being the work of Alberto Vargas

I didn't need swimsuit issues (Although I doubt if I ever saw any!) as I always got very excited when the next ASM issue turned up in the rack... and I always made sure I never got any type of stains on them either!

An interesting post about swimsuit issues appeared on Escher Girls recently (via another blog for the original images).
