Here's an activity for us long-time comic readers... A list of how many times well-known buildings or places were destroyed (for dramatic purposes) only to be rebuilt later (for practical purposes). Dreams, imaginary stories and what-if scenarios should not be considered, although stories in which some reality-altering trick brings things back to normal are fair game.
Please copy-paste and add to this embryo of a list! It may turn out to be a practical resource for comics historians!
The Baxter Building!
It lost its top floors in Fantastic Four vol. 1 #242; they were later rebuilt with a rocket launch tube on the building's side.
It was then thrown into space by Kristoff/Doctor Doom in FF #278 and blown to pieces. It would be later rebuilt as Four Freedom Plaza, a new building with a big "4" at the top.
The Savage Land!
Destroyed by Terminus in Avengers #257, but later restored by the High Evolutionary in X-Men annual #12.
The X-Mansion!
The X-Mansion is badly damaged by a Nagai monster in X-Men #143, and further wrecked by Sentinels in X-Men #151-152. It is then blown to toothpicks by Sidrian hunters in Uncanny X-Men #154.
Attilan!
A despairing Black Bolt lets a soul- (and city-) shattering scream escape, and Attilan is turned to rubble in Inhumans vol. 1 #5.
The universe!
I'll start with a recent one, because it was so cool : the entire multiverse was annihilated by Adam Warlock in Thanos: the Infinity Finale.

Avengers Mansion
Was destroyed during the Mansion Siege storyline in #273-277. Was replaced by an alternate universe Avengers Mansion that phased into existence at the end of the Gatherer's storyline in #375.

From memory off the top of my head:
Avengers Mansion
Stark Industries/International all across the world.
Asgard
Genosha: started as Hammer Bay which was destroyed and became Genosha which later is destroyed and becomes Black Roma.
Atlantis (how many times has it arisen from the depths only to be sunk once more?)
Coast City: Mongul destroyed it
Star City: Prometheus teleported big chunks of it away, leaving a giant star shaped zone
San Diego became Sub Diego for awhile if i remember correctly in Aquaman
Kandor and Krypton: always being reborn/recreated elsewhere only to be destroyed again
Daily Planet's Globe on the roof
Justice League Satellite: destroyed and rebuilt into the Watchtower satellite
Do Vehicles count? Avengers Quinjets, Fantasti-Car, FF Pogo Plane, Avengers Quinjets, X-Men Blackbird SHIELD Helicarriers,
What about armor/and/or mechanical/androids? Iron Man suits of armor, Machine Man, Ultron, Jocasta, Vision
What about weapons? Mjolnir, Captain America's shield. Hawkeye's bow.

What about androids/robots/AI? How many times have Red Tornado, Vision, Ultron etc. been destroyed and rebuilt? Would that be appropriate to record for this thread as well?

2 come to mind: Metropolis: didn't it get totally destroyed in 90s and Zatanna played a hand in bringing it back? Paradise Island: Wonder Woman's home is frequently under attack, disappears, sent to alternate dimensions, but always finds a way back

S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier Maria Hill blew this up when it was commandeered by Skrulls during the Secret Invasion storyline.

(By the way, folks, it would be cooler if we could give some indication as to when something was destroyed, the way Pharozonk, Crimebuster or the Captain did up there! Issue numbers are not that important, but a general idea like "When Mangog visited the second time"!
Cheers!

I never liked Four Freedoms Plaza, just a weird design. The Baxter Building had more elegant lines.

Gotham City got hit by an Earthquake and declared no man's land. Coast City was completely annihilated with no survivors in Green Lantern #46.

This is one area that I really don't pay much attention to and all of you made your points perfectly clear to me and because I don't pay much attention to - one event that really startled me when Mongul destroyed Coast City and that alone changed everything and Hal became Parallax.and from that get go - made this Green Lantern fan really sad in many ways more than one.
