Role for Liz Taylor is ZatannaWith Hair Extensions and this outrageous costumes with that touch of Red in the right places and that oversized Earrings she has the beauty, the looks, and everything else that comes into the territory as the Mistress of Magic - I say this she would stunned everyone here that I say this - I think Liz Taylor would be an excellent choice to play Zatanna. With the Ramona Fradon illustration - Wearing a Top Hat, with that Bow Tie, Fishnet Stockings, and no hair extensions at all she has the looks and the capabilities to play Zatanna. I was thinking outside the box for her and I do a lot of outside of the Box because I see an actress that can do that role. Liz Taylor is 5 foot 3 ... and Zatanna can be at any size either tall or short and if you disagree with me - that's fine and I can live with that. Honestly, I would howl if Liz plays Zatanna and that's my reasoning that you can put any costume of Zatanna on and she will Sizzle even this horrible costume below. Shocking, but true ... Liz Taylor for Zatanna!

Another Actress that could play ZatannaI would hire Lynda Carter for both Wonder Woman and Zatanna and if you use trick photography and all that she can play both roles to save me monies in the hiring process - But, Lynda Carter is born in the wrong era folks and she would had beaten Jane Russell for my pick for Wonder Woman. If she was born in the early part of the 30's and live in that era - I would had cast her in two roles doing both at the same time as Wonder Woman and Zatanna. Just Look at her in that tux ... Dead Ringer. Too bad, that I've just can't have her. Lynda Carter for both roles ...

First Villain Cast - Star Sapphire I would have gone with Elizabeth Taylor for Star Sapphire. Look at this picture of Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor and tell me they aren't dead ringers for Silver Age Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris. I had heard about Gil Kane basing his rendering of Hal Jordan on Paul Newman. Now, seeing this photo, I think he may have based Carol Ferris on Elizabeth Taylor. His Carol really looks a lot like that photo. Plus, I'm guessing that photo is from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which came out in 1958, the year before the new GL. I think Taylor would've worked very well, because she would with both identities: Carol and Star Sapphire.

In the 70s JLA letter pages, the suggestions were usually tv actors, as there were more hero and sci-fi shows on, at the time. Some I recall:
Superman-Christopher Reeve, though after he had been cast and the movie released. Peter Lupus, who played him in Air Force recruiting ads was also suggested. Batman-Adam West, always. I don't recall any other suggestions, thereby disproving the idea that all comic fans hated the tv show, for ruining Batman. Flash-Lee Majors, because of the running stuff on the Six Million Dollar Man Aquaman-Nick Nolte. This was before The Deep and some people had it in their head that he starred in an Aquaman pilot that was never seen. I think some got it from the JLA letter pages. Black Canary-Cheryl Ladd, based on Charlie's Angels (since she was the blond, after Farrah). Wonder Woman-Lynda Carter, after the tv show debuted. Don't recall other suggestions
I'd have to go digging around for others. These are the ones I can pull off the top of my head.

Or Nick Fury. Along those lines, I think they could have had a hit movie, with Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman, if they had chosen to go that route, based on the first season. They could have gone the Batman route and reused stuff that a movie budget paid for, in a second season of the tv series. They'd have to up the writing a bit from the tv quality; but, I think fans would have come out. By the same token, they could have easily had a Six Million Dollar Man hit movie or a Bionic Duo film, based on the ratings of those shows, at their height. Instead, we got Lee Majors as a viking, which my family saw, at a drive-in. man was that bad! My brother and I joked about bionic vikings, in a scene where they are shown running in slow motion, on a beach.

Rita Hayworth for Poison IvyWhen, I think of Poison Ivy and I prefer to have her in this movie over Catwoman because of one good reason - I would cast Rita Hayworth for the role of Poison Ivy, because she has STAR POWER written all over here and was Columbia Pictures top female lead for good 16 years from 1941 to 1957 of which she had the top billing in Pal Joey over Frank Sinatra and Kim Novak. I've once considered Rita Hayworth for the role of Mera and felt that role is better suited for Esther Williams the star of the Million Dollar Mermaid and other aquatic movies that she starred in during the 50's. I felt that Rita is better qualified for Mera and when I started thinking about the aquatic movies that Esther starred in and all that - She had star qualities too. So, it is a win-win for both Williams and Hayworth. I have to admit it is insane to cast Rita Hayworth as Poison Ivy but back then - she would sizzle on the big screen as Poison Ivy and would make Uma Thurman a joke BTW. She can dance and one of the most seductive actress in the 40's and having the Star of Gilda and Down to Earth and to me the 1946 was the height of her career and I would had my JLA movie completed by 1947 to accommodate the glamour of Rita Hayworth. Someone thought of her casting her and here's a picture of her being doctored using Batman's Adam West Series as a backdrop. Anyway, to me Rita is first and foremost to play Poison Ivy. Another candidate for Poison Ivy would had been Ann-Margret, but I had to turn her down because of her age and she had clout as an actress too but she was born in 1941 and that's is a strike against her. Looking at this picture and I wished that the Producers of Batman had thought of this in the first place - Ann Margret would be sensational as Poison Ivy. Man, we were robbed BIG TIME.

I'm sticking to my Choice of Kirk Douglas for AQUAMAN ... I would had cast Rita Hayworth as MERA ... At one time, Kirk (Aquaman) Douglas dated Rita (Mera) Hayworth a couple of times and my Grandfather once told me 8 years before he died that Kirk was considering divorcing his wife and marry Rita of whom that she was divorcing her 3rd Husband and they were talked of the town seeing these two powerhouses dating at the time. I don't know all the details and I just wanted to share this information to all of you and pictures to prove that they were item and imagine Kirk Douglas marrying her and Michael Douglas would had been Rita's Mother instead. Think of the Star Power of the Douglas Family and future generations ... I just wanted to share this to you today.

Hawkman and Hawkgirl - Casting ofFor Hawkman it's Clint Walker and @mrjupiter choice for him is mutually sound because he's 6'6" and commands a screen presence by his size alone. I echo his comments and I not backing out of him at all and he's perfect for Carter Hall and that alone is a win win for all of us here. Clint Walker for HawkmanFor Hawkgirl it's Maureen O'Hara ... I consider her great looks and having another dynamite Redhead on the screen and my JLA film would be in Color and doesn't hurt to have another great star power in O'Hara to play Hawkgirl. She strong, dynamic, and most of all in her movies as a Pirate and Westerns co-starring with John Wayne helped her cause for being Hawkman's wife and she and Clint Walker will be dynamite together. Maureen O'Hara for HawkgirlThink about it a pairing of Walker and O'Hara would be an excellent together and they would complimented each other just beautifully.

@mechagodzilla , I love Maureen O'Hara as Hawkgirl! Walker is a great physical match for the current depictions of Hawkman, but his acting skills were limited; I don't think he could properly convey the scientific smarts of Katar Hol. Saying that, I don't have a substitute to offer, either. Maybe the acrobatic and immensely talented Burt Lancaster? He was the Birdman, after all....

Come to think of it, Lancaster would have made great Sgt. Rock or Nick Fury.
