There was a thread like this on the old forum, so I'm reviving it here.
To start, just saw a GILLIGAN'S ISLAND episode that references Buck Rogers as a "comic book character"-- which he was, if only in a restricted sense.

Are we just looking at classic media, or current stuff too?

New stuff might keep us fresh!

There's a lot of newer stuff, obviously. I believe Big Bang Theory has maybe made a reference to comics once or twice.
The comic adaptation of Castle was referenced (and shown) on the show.

Let's get a few of the obvious ones out of the way:
- Tarantino references the Fantastic Four in "Reservoir Dogs" and Superman in "Kill Bill".
- Irvine Welsh's "Maribu Stork Nightmares" references the Silver Surfer a couple of times.
- Arturo Perez Reverte's "Nautical Chart" references Tin-Tin.

There's always the ubiquitous Richard Gere reading Silver Surfer in Breathless....

Well there's this ... Also Satriani's album "Flying in a Blue Dream" has the song "Back to Shalla-Bal". Cypress Hill also mentions Frank Castle in "Tequila Sunrise" with a line that's not age appropriate to post.

The Crash Test Dummies had a song about Superman,
Chris Rock mentions Aquaman in "Bigger and Blacker".
The tv-series Entourage had a whole season about the main character playing Aquaman in a movie.

Weezer's In the Garage has several X-Men (and D&D) references.

There are lots of rappers who use variations of comic characters names.
MF Doom (actually wears a Doom mask) MF Grimm (not 100% on this being a reference to The Thing) Mr Fantastik Johnny Blaze Clark Kent (producer)
Doom has a lot of samples from old Fantastic Four cartoons on his first album.
The sample at the beginning of this might be from an X-Men cartoon. It could also be anime, though.

There's also the old Donovon song, "Sunshine Superman": "Superman and Green Lantern, ain't got nothing on me..." and Five for Fighting's "Superman".

There's also the old Donovon song, "Sunshine Superman": "Superman and Green Lantern, ain't got nothing on me..." and Five for Fighting's "Superman". Speaking of Donovan, there was also Superlungs my Supergirl, but I am not sure that was a DC reference or something altogether different... -M

I wasn't looking for pop references in ARCHER when I started a big re-watch of the episodes, but I did catch an improbable reference to MARMADUKE in one ep called "Crossing Over."
