Fantastic! I’m probably looking forward to this more than Infinity War.

Celine Dion contributes a song to the soundtrack: That's not a selling point.

Celine Dion contributes a song to the soundtrack: That's not a selling point. I imagine the fan base of Celine Dion overlaps with the projected Deadpool 2 audience. It's almost worth watching just for the end. Almost.

Not even Deadpool can make me sit through a Celine Dion song.

Saw it, wasn't very impressed. For me, same problem as GotG2 - they saw what worked in the first one and tried to amp it all up in this one, and it felt forced, and not very funny.
I'll give it another go when the DVD is out

Watched the first one yesterday, for the first time, then saw the new one last night. I'm not a fan of the comics, and haven't read much of it; but, the first film was entertaining. It took me a moment to realize that the carrier where the climactic battle was taking place was a helicarrier, as I didn't notice the turbines until the ship started to tilt. They should have made it look more like the one from the Fox Nick Fury movie, with Hasselhoff, for a real easter egg of an easter egg.
The new one? It has moments; but, I thought the story was a lot weaker and the moments were stretched far apart. Brolin was a decent Cable, whatever that means (a good Terminator rip-off?) Shatterstar gets a deserved moment for his role.
As far as the humor goes, it is deeply potty-mouthed and sophomoric; but, not really what I would term offensive, beyond the language. By that I mean it doesn't go out of its way to perpetuate stereotypes, demean people or anything like that. It is crude and crass, but mostly in a character-driven style. It's not like a Tarantino film, with N-words being tossed around like candy, or something like that, which I find more offensive that just profanity and vulgarity. It's not something I'd want a steady diet of, though.
I found both to be better than any of the X-Men films, since First Class, for what that's worth.

Just saw Deadpool 2 tonight and enjoyed it. I thought it was a little better than the first one, the overall story had a little more heart. And I found Brad Pitt's cameo and the post-credit scenes particularly hilarious.

I had completely missed the post-credit scene... Now that's how you fix continuity!

Okay, I've yet to see this and am torn between watching the standard release or the Once Upon a Deadpool release, which cuts down the violence to PG-13 but inserts a framing sequence with Deadpool reading to an adult Fred Savage ala The Princess Bride.
Has anyone seen both? Recommendations on which to watch? Or do I really need to watch both?

Has anyone seen both? Recommendations on which to watch? Or do I really need to watch both? Can't recommend a version over another, but unless you watch it with a very young kid, I'd say the violence is so extremely cartoony as to be completely inoffensive. (There is, however, a LOT of it... and of course a lot of *ahem* inappropriate jokes.)
