I'm almost in the same situation, but I probably have enough interest to check Justice League out when Netflix has it on DVD.

Since The Dark Knight, the only DC movies I've seen in a movie theater have been Wonder Woman and The Lego Batman Movie.

I have yet to see Man of Steel, because Henry Cavill's dour Superman seemed unlike the character. I rented Suicide Squad. There was some decent acting, but overall the movie was a mess. Somehow it was simultaneously too long and also edited down to remove whatever scenes it needed to make sense. I watched Batman vs. Superman because it was available on a long plane flight. It was as dumb as all the critics said. Ben Affleck is anti-charismatic.

After Wonder Woman, I thought maybe I'd give Justice League a try. Although I find the praise of Wonder Woman as a potential Best Picture nominee ridiculously excessive, I enjoyed it.

But when the Justice League trailers/commercials came out, they sapped my interest. It just looks like a flaccid movie, as if Warner Bros. is just making because they feel like they have to do. The characters who previously just had cameos don't seem that interesting. Cyborg's CGI looks like an eyesore; maybe try some practical effects for that. I don't find Affleck compelling at all. The movie looks like bleak Snyder-verse stuff, with a thin veneer of humor to try to adjust to the criticism of prior films.

Main Villian - Steppenwolf CGI Format - 1.5, not bad and not good and I felt that this character is not worthy for JLA Level at all. No Change at all

Aquaman - Jason did an okay job as Aquaman and I liked his interaction with Mera, but he's doesn't ring true as the King of the Seven Seas - the reason for that he's has dark hair and too muscular - Biker Dude Mentality, 2.5

Batman - Ben being a seasoned actor and I felt that he did a better job that I've thought and I felt he did an average job in this movie that disappointed me. 3.0

Cyborg - CGI Format - For the record - I hate CGI Actors and put a face on them and having said that it's had an unnatural look of a superhero. Not natural for me and I just can't stand it at all - 1.0

The Flash - Ezra - See Aquaman for general info, I hated his special effects and not the Flash that I expected to be. 1.0

Superman - Henry did okay and certainly did a better job as Superman in BvS and on par and slightly better than Man of Steel. I felt that his air time did not do justice and should had more air time and that's would had made the movie much, much better. 4.0

Wonder Woman - Gal is the real star of the Movie and I felt that she should had more spotlight and did an exceptional job and did her role very professionally and was dynamic. 5.0

Overall Grade - 2.3 - Barely above D and having said that - I was sad to waited nearly 40 years to see a Justice League Movie - based on Superman The Movie made back in 1978, starring Christopher Reeve as Superman. This is my honest assessment and I'm not seeing it again at all. I just can't wait for Wonder Woman 2 to show up and I do have Wonder Woman on DVD & not having the Justice League at all.

No Green Lantern, No Martian Manhunter, and my general feelings is the direction of Warners Bros ... they failed me to entertain me the joy of seeing a Justice League Movie. I'm very sad to say this that this movie is half of the of the Avengers and I do enjoy that movie and have it on DVD.

I've increased my grade of this movie to 2.8 (better than 2.3, previously graded) and that nearing to a C level grade. In order to make the next movie better they need to make Flash a better character and the special effects for him even more better. More screen time to Henry Cavill and they need to replace Ben Affleck with a better Batman. And, find a better Villain and don't make them CGI format. Jason as Aquaman needs his hair lighter and his beard more trimmed to be a better King of the Seven Seas. He weighs at 230 and he needs to get down to 215-220 to be better suited for the role. He's not that bad ... Cyborg and the Flash has to be significantly better in order that all future JLA movies to compete with Marvel Films.

I did enjoy it more the 2nd time around ... Blue increases and Red decreases

I understand the feeling of just not caring at this point. Beyond the bad reviews, I probably wouldn't have gone to see JL just going off of what I've seen from trailers. I don't like Synder as a filmmaker (even in a diminished role), don't think Cavill makes a good Superman/Clark Kent, don't like Affleck as a person (his moronic tift with Sam Harris was the clincher), don't think Cyborg should be in JL (Why not John Stewart? The lack of Lantern is absurd), have zero interest in "dude, bro" Aquaman that looks like early 90's Jae Lee Namor, and think it's silly that DC is going with two versions of the Flash when they already have a fan favorite in Grant Gustin.

Right now the only DC movies I'll go see is Wonder Woman, given how much I loved that movie, until I see some drastic improvement in casting choices and story quality. I'd reboot the whole damn thing (save Gadot's WW) with filmmakers that understand the DCU, aren't trying to catch up with and copy Marvel, with a clear vision for the franchises.

Well, it's certainly felt like quite some time has passed before this film finally dropped down onto pay-per-view.

Now that it has, I watched it and was quite surprised, slightly better than I originally expected, especially based on all the prior negative reviews. There was more humor than I would've first thought, some of which was decent (never, NEVER get tired of any variation of the 'Do you talk to fish?' jab. So poetic and fitting.) Aquabro is probably the most that I've ever been intrigued by the character. Barry was just thissss side of being annoying. Cyborg's CGI look was rough but the character himself, I liked. This is probably the most that I've enjoyed Cavill as Superman, especially his reunion scenes with Lois. Batfleck...well, was Batfleck. Though his moral sparring with Diana was interesting. Diana was good, of course.

As for Steppenwolf, a generic villain whose allegiance to Darkseid and Apokolips was barely, barely hinted at. The end credit scene felt out of place from this story.

So this is probably my favorite DCU film now...which isn't saying all that much.

I was reading a few "why is the CGI so bad" in JL, mainly focused on the legendary moustache, and I rewatched some samples which were linked on youtube. To be honest, the moustache doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as the rest of the CGI, which is pretty uniformly terrible - really obvious green-screen backgrounds, Cyclops heads pasted onto his body like a bad photoshop, and I am even more convinced that whoever does their CGI has really fundamental problems with the physics engine in their animation - characters get hit and fly away in arcs that just don't work from the direction of the punch, and the transition from actor to CGI and back to actor during the action is just laughably bad. I found a link to a clip where Superman is first revived and fights the JL, which illustrates all this, and I can't find the @*&$% link again!

In looking for the link, I found some other commentary. Being on the Netflix schedule, I’ve only just seen the movie.

It’s good that echoes over the past few years were so unenthusiastic for the most part, because I went in with low expectations. And all in all, it wasn’t bad! It was a decent modern superhero movies, with the accepted tropes of the genre, warts and all.

A colourful cast, most of which I found endearing. A few genuine emotional moments (bordering on the cheesy, but my CCF name is that of a cheese). A thoroughly generic villain who will destroy/conquer/remake the Earth yaddayaddayadda. An army of disposable drones that can be killed without any ethical problem, because it is established that they’re already dead. Entirely too many CGI battles that look like the trailer for a video game. Some iconic moments (complete with the Batman and the Superman themes). If that’s what we expect, the movie delivers.

I especially liked the small moments. Batman saying “something’s bleeding, all right” and Wonder Woman observing that she’s working with children had me smiling, because that sounded like something actual people might say.

Momoa absolutely kills it as Aquaman, although the character is pretty much written as DC’s Thor in this movie (but hey, the whole genre is about using other people’s ideas).

I honestly didn’t notice the unmoustache. And I was looking for it. Cavill does a great Superman.

The most pleasant surprise was Cyborg. I didn’t like the idea of him being a JLAer and not a Titan, and the photos I had seen gave him a rather crystalline body instead of a more robotic one... plus, he’s not written as Victor Stone at all. But no matter! In this film, it works! This new Victor, more of an intellectual than an athlete, and one who does not indulge in stereotypical street talk and handshakes, is quite refreshing. Plus his connection to New Gods technology makes dramatic sense and explains the nature of his cyborg parts. I wish he had been less of an Iron Man, but this cinematic Cyborg I am happy to get to know better!

The cast did a great job. The characters’ chemistry isn’t quite to the level of the Avengers, but there’s something there.

Oh, and establishing part of the DC mythology early in the film (with the Green Lantern Corps) was pretty good world building -for all that it felt like a retread of Lord of the Rings at times.

A strong B+ in my book!
