Sherlock Holmes's London and environs It would be a stinky place...

Yeah, but I'm talking about the Platonic version of it... foggy streets, sheets of rain hitting the windows while a roaring fire warms the room, the clop-clop of carriage horses who never leave a pile of manure behind them. The way Main Street, USA in Disney World is an idealized version of turn-of-the-century America. No sweatshops, no lynchings, throngs of fulfilled women celebrating their equality and their husbands gleefully sharing in the household chores.

Problem with being in a universe with Dalek's is that except for the Doctor, anybody and everybody else really doesn't fare to well when meeting. At least the Cyber-men convert you and take you into their society whereas Daleks simply EXTERMINATE you. Don't think i want to meet Dalek's. Hang out by the pool with the Silurian's, have a pub run with Sontaran's, work on your sun tan with the Ice Warrior's would all be cool, but Dalek's just aren't known to be the life of the party. People always get the wrong idea about the Daleks, I think, because they only ever see the mindless military drones doing their conquer and destroy bit. I don't think you can really judge an entire society by the actions of a few million individuals. There are probably any number of more moderate Daleks on Skaro, trying their best to just get along. I saw one once, working at the Museum of the Moving Image in London. He wasn't bothering anyone, and he was very good with kids. i want to see the Daleks taking on traditional working class roles. I personally think Daleks would make great social workers/case management in the world. Hi Mr Dalek sir i'm a drug addict and unable to work/support myself, can you help me out? EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! Next please. Dalek unemployment: Hi Mr. Dalek i am sitting here under the freeway overpass with a cardboard sign asking for money, can you help me out? EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! next please. Dalek fast food: Hi, Mr. Dalek i would like the Big Mac without mustard, without onions, without may and extra cheese and bacon, can you help me out? EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! Next please. Dalek Cashier: Hi Mr. Dalek i am in a rush and have 2 baskets full of product to buy and am using the 10 items or less line because i don't want to wait my turn, can you help me out? EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! SIGN SAYS 10 ITEMS OR LESS! EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! Daleks functioning in society and doing what they do best! That i want to see...

The North America from the Daniel Boone TV series. A wide and open land with few and mostly friendly natives, very few European colonists who leave a small footprint on their environment, and a pristine continent where someone can always move to the next valley if they've had enough. Freedom!
Barsoom, where every guy is a hero, every woman a goddess, every journey an adventure, and I'd get to jump around like Tigger.
The Shire, because at my age it's also good to give up on adventure and think about comfort and cake.

It was in re-run rotation with Batman and if I wasn't running around with a towel around my neck being Batman I was out hunting with Mingo. You know you're going to get torn apart by Wahoons or White Apes. Don't forget Elevenses.

Always wanted my own Woola romping along beside me across the desert landscape of Mars as i came home to my own Martian Princess.

I also would have loved to live on ERB's Mars. As an adult I still wonder what it would like to live on Mars.

Ben always seemed easy to disappoint. No wonder Adam left. Cheyenne was another favorite, from the show's plaintive theme song to the way Cheyene just always seemed to have to move on. Like he was atoning for some long-ago wrong he'd committed. I hope you've read and seen Lonesome Dove, Michael.

Cheyenne: I have never watched it. I have seen ads on MeTV for the show.
Lonesome Dove: saw the original mini series. Never read any of the novels.
Westerns were one of the ways my Dad & I bonded. He grew up listening to them on the radio & then watching them on TV. I fell in love with the Lone Ranger & Hopalong Cassidy at a young age & spent many evenings watching westerns on TV sitting right next to my Dad. He even bought some radio shows on cassette to listen to when we went to see my grandparents (who lived 4 hrs from us).
One of my Dad's favorite gifts that I gave to him was the complete Hopalong Cassidy TV & movie series. We still watch the occasional western together on MeTV.

LOVE the Lone Ranger! Watched it as a kid and still catch it occasionally on ME, too! Hopalong, too. PLEASE READ Lonesome Dove, my friend! (Though none of the other se-and prequels are worth it.) You owe it to yourself.

Being an Arizona native i was always partial to Westerns. Enjoyed High Chaparral, Wild Wild West, Lone Ranger, Cimmarron Strip, Have Gun, Will Travel. Kind of vicariously was able to live the western lifestyle when Grizzly Adam's was on television as during the winter they would film just outside of Payson in the mountains here as it was easily accessible and resembled the original filming sites. My grandfather did night security and during Thanksgiving and Christmas break me and my 2 brothers and 2 cousins would get to "camp" out on the set site in the security trailer. Then each morning have breakfast when the crew would come in to set up and get to hang around and watch the filming for awhile. Got to meet the cast of Dan Haggerty, Denver Pyle, Don Shanks and of course Ben the Bear
