Except that Dan and I aren't clueless. Tactless, at times. Shameless, for sure. But not clueless.
Cei-U! Protesteth too much, mayhap!

I think, in Byrne's case, it's actually used to indicated ... ummm ... a word that starts with "a-," has a couple of repeated letters, & then ends with "-hole." At some point, they're going to haul him off to the Home for Clueless Curmudgeons, aren't they? A few years ago Byrne would drop comments frequently that he "had no life" and was depressed. He stopped that after awhile, and seems to have gone with a faux projection of positivity (hence all the "!") and levelheadedness. The disturbing thing is that he's actually gotten weirder. The whole Star Trek photo-novel thing struck me as odd and desperate, even though he's far from the first person to make one. I admit that I'm fascinated by his seeming lack of awareness. He still doesn't seem to get how bad that whole "I'm a cog" thing made him look. I also think he holds a big grudge against Kirby for mocking him in Destroyer Duck (Hence all the siding against the Kirby family and, ya know, having Superman make a porno with Barda aka Roz...).

Maybe you two can go visit Byrne and straighten him out?

Oh, yeah. Kurt & I on a road trip.
Sort of like a Crosby & Hope "On the Road" movie as remade by David Lynch.

My idea is that you guys pose as Amish militants on a mission to punish a rogue member who escaped from the enclave. It would all be a clever ruse to shave Byrne's beard off and thus teach him humility.

What do you mean pose as Amish militants, Englischer? Have you seen a pic of Kurt & his beard lately?

I suspected that we had a strong contingent of hardcore Amish around here. I didn't want to be the one to point it out.

Is there a secret sub-forum where bearded forum members swap pics? Am I to speak the secret word now?

Is there a secret sub-forum where bearded forum members swap pics? Am I to speak the secret word now? The first rule of the secret sub-forum where bearded forum members swap pics is, of course, that we don't talk about the secret sub-forum where bearded forum members swap pics.

Who's going to be our Dorothy Lamour? We've never compared our taste in women.
Cei-U! I summon the wish list!

Given your recollections of how your sister used to like to dress you up, I figured you'd be doing double duty as Dorothy.
Which, to be honest, scared me senseless.
