Taking a cue from Shaxper's thread on letter pages, how about house ads that didn't deliver? I always think of this one. There was a Doc Savage mini by O'Neill and the Kuberts, but it didn't look anything like this (which could've been a pretty interesting take on Doc).

This one always comes to mind. Frank Miller never drew Dr. Strange instead we got Marshall Rogers.

Or the sheer number of House Ads for stories and runs that just never ended up happening, like Frank Miller on Doctor Strange.

...instead we got Marshall Rogers. Not a bad thing Nope not at all. Good stuff. Then after Rogers we got Paul Smith who I thought was even better.

I was always kind of glad we never had to see Captain America make a "special friend" of a 10 to 14 year old girl.

Does not capture the tone of the book.

I imagine, if it counts, Marvel Age had its share. Here's the one that I'll always remember:

Well... Dark Empire did happen, just not at Marvel. Is that Bat Lash ad after his series, or before?
The one I remember is a Lois Lane comic that taked about old stories that never happened (I'm sure someone probably has it.. I think it was a back cover)
