I personally prefer what we have up now, but I'm open to input. I kind of like this one the best and I'm not trying to be picky here; how about taking all of these images that you and Confessor created using PhotoShop and have a Poll and let's us decide the best one for our Forum. It is your call ... and I do like the one that's currently in place but this one is my favorite of them of all.

I'll toy with this one more if you like it, but unless we can make it work better, the current one is pretty much the only one I consider presentable. I will keep trying to make this one work though.

I'm obviously a bit biased, having created the new banner from scratch, but my own thoughts are that I like the DC lettering better because it says "old DC comics" more than the old lettering. Which is why I changed it. I also personally prefer the lettering sitting within the "DC Bullet" and at an angel for the same reason...it just says "DC comics" to me more than having the letters CCF swollen and orientated horizontally so they stick out of the logo. However, since we now have a logo that is more authentically DC and Marvel, I'm also wondering whether we shouldn't revert to the way the logo was originally orientated, like this... I mean, I like the new, more dynamic angle a lot, but I do sort of wonder whether it detracts from the effect of replicating the top of an old comic? The image above looks much more obviously like the top of a comic book to me, which ultimately is the whole point of the logo, I guess. Thoughts?

Well I prefer the original orientation to the angled one, and your banner above is great is as it does indeed look more like the top of an old comic. Which is what I assumed was the original intention.

The old banner bores me. I'm positively in love with the energy of the new one.

A little more playing... This is the closest I can get to what Roquefort Raider and @mechagodzilla were asking for: I'm not a fan, myself. Here's an attempt to balance Roquefort Raider's suggestions with Confessor's preferences: Not bad, but I still like what we have up now better. Design by committee is a tricky thing. I think it would help if everyone reading updated their votes for this poll just so that we know how many people actually aren't happy with the banner as it currently stands.

shaxper ... Come to think of it - I'm happy with either one and I felt the current one is fine with me. So, just leave it alone for now and play with it.

And, for those of you still interested in the traditional, while I definitely prefer the new approach, here's a small attempt to rev up the look of the old. A little bigger and a little bit of new.

With the number of changes this banner has had you should probably name it Bruce.

The old banner bores me. I'm positively in love with the energy of the new one. If you're dead set on the new angle, then I think we have a winner with the way the banner is now. It looks much sharper and less pixelated, which was the point of re-building it in the first place. I prefer that the letters "CCF" are within the DC Bullet, like on an old comic.. As you say, design by committee is generally to be avoided, so I think we're already set as it is now. Leave it as is.

^^^^ I agree with this!
Especially the "design by committee" part. I love the way the current look emulates the DC bullet. My on,y reservation was that the CCF letters didn't seem to have the same 3D angle as the rest of the banner, but as shaxper made clear, that's just an optical illusion. They do have the proper angle.

As it seems that the majority of the community isn't concerned enough about the current banner to chime in on this conversation either way, I second the idea of leaving it as is. I think it accomplishes the purposes of feeling nostalgic, energetic, and professional. And that's good enough for me! Thanks again, Confessor, for all your help!

I just haven't had time to review this yet. Having done so now, for what it's worth, I agree with you. Let's keep the new dynamic logo until we want to reboot in a few years!
