Wonder Man CostumesSlam_Bradley is right on the nose! Left to Right 1) C- 2) A+ ... The coolest look and it's contemporary and classic at the same time. 3) D 4) B 5) B+ ... I loved the design and the color scheme 6) C- 7) C 8) F ... Hated the Costume on the far right ... period. The rest forget about it.

The red jacket look is the only look I've ever liked for Wonder Man.
And the green one with the rocket pack is absolutely the worst.

That's the early 80's to mid 80's look for the character.

This is the best look for Simon Williams. In fact, it's one of the coolest look for any superhero character.

I also like the safari jacket look, but am I the only one who also likes his original costume? It's similar to his later basic costume, but I like the headpiece as part of it, and I like the green better than the black/navy blue or whatever that color is supposed to be later. The weird squiggles at the stomach are the only part of his original outfit I don't like, but otherwise, this is a close second behind the safari jacket for me.

I actually liked the George Perez redesign best. Followed by the original. The safari suit was OK, but it was hardly memorable and it screams "eighties" now.

And the green one with the rocket pack is absolutely the worst. I think everyone agrees on that.

Screams more 30s, to me, as he looks like a Doc Savage type, which is part of why I liked it. It was different and helped him stand out in a crowd where his powers were matched or exceeded by several members. I kid the Perez one; but, I liked it well enough at the time; I just didn't thing they had the right shades. The red and green in that illustration doesn't quite match the original debut. Of course, he didn't keep it long. I'm a fan of the original, except for the squiggles. Unless they were supposed to represent some kind of knitted effect, I never understood them. The basic style is great; simple, elegant, clean lines, which always works in comics. The color scheme was different, except Marvel tended to use green for a lot of villains, which Wondy was, at the start.

There's nothing about it that says 80s to me (leaving aside that he started wearing it in '78)...and I was a teenager for most of the 80s. I honestly can't remember anyone else wearing anything similar at the time. To me it was a call out to the 30s and 40s serials and jungle adventures. The fact that it pre-dated Raiders of the Lost Ark just makes it cooler.

Beast is in Uncanny Avengers? Really? That's kinda cool.. since when? Is it the actual (pardon the pun) real McCoy, or the AoA one, or some other one, or what? The real Beast. He was a part of the storyline where they finally beat the Red Skull and deprived him of the psychic powers he'd stolen from the late Professor X; Beast performed brain surgery! That must have been right after I dropped it... maybe I'll check that out.

What can I say, I'm a sucker for the red/green/yellow color combination. OK, I'll give it a shot. 1) B- 2) B+ 3) C- 4) C+ 5) C+ 6) C- 7) C 8) A- I don't actually think Wonder Man has the greatest history of costumes. Maybe that's why he keeps changing. We should grade Wasp costumes now!!

Beast and Wondy's lovechild. Wondy is his ionic energy form. Always hated that look, but they keep on using it.
