Hm, considering how he's composed of 'ionic' energy, this form makes the best sense to me actually. In fact, I think Busiek's handling of his character in Avengers Vol. 3 is one of his better portrayals, especially his role within and the emotional fallout from the Ultron saga of #19-23.

The safari look is forever classic but I've never understood the teeny-tiny belt jets of that costume that let him fly. Always looked and felt like an afterthought consideration.
