There were two or three other posts between my review and Cody's video (which was reposted.) It was nothing offensive or rule-breaking that I could tell.

Certainly surpassed my expectations and is easily the best DCEU movie to date (not that that's exactly saying much).
The first hour or so is great...but then I think it falls somewhat into the same trap as the other DCEU films.
That's when the dour mood, excessive CGI, etc kicks into high gear.
One thing that certainly caught me by surprise was that Gal Gadot absolutely OWNED the character. After BvS, I thought she would be incredibly one-note and didn't have the acting chops to carry her own movie. I was proven dead wrong in that regard and I would love to see her in a sequel.
Bur overall, does this change my outlook of the DCEU?
Hell no
Justice League still looks awful IMO.
DC/WB would be much better served by abandoning Zack Snyder completely, abandoning the idea of a shared "Cinematic Universe" and putting together standalone Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman (without Cavill...the damage has already been done) films.

Finally saw Wonder Woman last night and I loved it. Was it perfect? No, but for me it was a very nice depiction of Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot shines as Wonder Woman. I did notice some continuity issues, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the movie. I liked Chris Pine as Steve too and Dr. Poison was creepy!

Saw it with my girls yesterday afternoon.. I enjoyed it. The CGI was pretty lousy, and the slow motion fighting bits were WAY over used, but I agree that Gadot did a fantastic job with the character, and Chris Pine was an excellent Steve Trevor.(Though my wife didn't understand why they didn't just use Matt Damon, apparently she thinks they look alot alike).
I loved the side kick crew, and for once tossing in diversity worked really well instead of feeling manufactured by the PC police. I'd love to see those guys again at some point.
I think it's about the best one could get out of the dark, colorless DCU they're creating.. definitely way better than Superman v. Batman. I was a little confused as to why Magneto was claiming to be Ares though.

Saw it this evening. I am amazed at the overwhelmingly positive reviews - I thought it was appallingly bad. Hackneyed, cliche-ridden, large chunks lifted straight out of the Captain America film, some truly terrible acting and largely filmed in the DCEU's favourite colour scheme of through the keyhole into a coal cellar at midnight. The fight scenes were largely terrible, especially the Amazon sparring and pretty much all of Gadot's fight scenes; much of the CGI and pretty much all of the wire work was laughably bad, especially the leaping and diving of Diana.
The 3rd act was abysmal, but the rest wasn't much better. Agreed it wasn't a car crash like Batfleck v Stoneface, but still very very poor. Without knowing the background of Wonder Woman, from this film only, could you tell me what her powers actually are? Because as far as I can see, it's super fast reflexes (OK), stupid bullet deflecting bracelets (OK, canon but massively over-used), strength (sure), leaping (fair enough) and then throw in "can do whatever the hell she needs to be able to do to beat the villain" - where does deflecting and capturing lightning come from?

I took the lightning thing as Zeus working through her, I thought that was fine. I agree the CGI and the 'super' parts looked pretty bad, but the when they were more noral fight scenes they were fine.. a bit overly showy, perhaps, but that's fun in small doses. I disagree with the plot comparison, I think it was only similar to Captain America in that it was a war movie.. it's true there's only so many plot with a war movie where one knows who wins, but that's not a big deal. Or perhaps it's just that we have such low standards for DC.

I think the CA similarities go a lot further - there's the multi-national team of not-at-all-Howling Commandoes; there's the way Trevor bows out of the film, which is essentially the same way that Cap exits the war section of his film; and the whole "inspire demoralised troops" thing (while not in any way unique to CA), looks very similar in the context of 2 superhero films set in war-time and only released within a relatively short time of each other.
As for the lightning - why and how would Zeus be working through her, when he's supposedly dead or used up according to the backstory in the film?

It's a minor thing, but it bothered me that the Amazons, including Diana, knew all of these languages, especially English, and yet knew nothing of the outside world, like the fact that a place called Germany existed. The only way they could learn the more recent languages like English would be to have sent someone out to gather books to learn from. And if they gathered english books they must have learned something about the politics of that time and the divisions between European countries. Maybe the Amazons did that and just kept what they knew from Diana to protect her like Hippolitta did with her actual parentage. But it bothered me that Diana could be fluent in a language that the only way to learn is to also gain the knowledge the movie makes a point of her lacking. That is a good point. I think it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" type of deal. If they were speaking their own language then it would just get in the way of the film. So that route wasn't plausible for story purposes.

I just saw it for the 2nd time today and it's better 2nd time around because - I was focusing on the plot and how well Gal Gadot did her acting and all that. She is definitely more poised than Cavill and a whole lot better than Affleck right now and I felt that this is the best DC Comics Movie to date.
She is very good in the action scene and does it quite well and commands a screen presence of which Cavill does not and has better expressions than Affleck. Honest.

The film is banned in Tunisia. Apparently, Gal Gadot being Israelian and not condemning her own country when it fights Hamas in Gaza makes it unacceptable.
For crying out loud.

I finally saw it. The trailer had me quite enthusiastic about it. The end product is a lackluster. You basically get 5-6 extended scenes, 4 actions, boring music, there's no sense of traveling, the villain isn't bad per se, but the reveal and conclusion underwhelming. The trailer was brutal and agressive, the movie is micro-oven epic... All in all, if you consider it as a movie instead of as a superhero movie, i gave it 3/10, at best...
