I enjoyed the Cockroach up through Mothers and Daughters, though thought he was far less effective a satire in M&D, apart from where he went massive gonzo, parodying the explosions of superhero universes and indie companies. Thought he was at his best with Moon Roach and Wolveroach.
I'll be facetious and say Rob Liefeld and anything he did after leaving Marvel.

being a massive River Song fan from the get-go, this wounds me. how the hell did Clara get more popular than River I'm sure her looks have something to do with it - probably one of the most attractive actresses around these days. I liked her character at the start because she wasn't intimidated by the Doctor and in fact he was as fascinated by her as she was by him - and not in a romantic way, or at least not primarily. It put their relationship on a more even footing without making them a couple. But they ruined it with the introduction of the boyfriend. After that her story was all about the usual relationship drama, as if to say any woman must be more concerned with her personal romance or whatever than with exploring the wonders of time and space. At the end they really hammered that point home by having her threaten to allow the entire universe to be destroyed if she didn't get her boyfriend back. So for me, Clara went from the very best to one of the very worse Companions. But, in a non sjw context, one could argue the same 'changes' were put upon the Silurians. 'Horses for Course', 'Which Bull Gets Gored". Doing something 'for the sake of doing something'.

even The Husbands of River Song story? Especially that one! My love of Kat Hepburn and Cary Grant in Bringing Up Baby, which seems to be quite the inspiration for The Husbands of River Song, weeps Ood tears at this.

I could give my own long screed on why River Song is an insufferable Mary-Sue, but I'll restrict myself to discussing comics characters.
Marv Wolfman is inexplicably fond of Danny Chase, and seems genuinely bewildered while the character is loathed by New Titans fans. He has even said in interviews that there is nothing wrong the character but it is the readers fault for not 'getting' him. Sure Marv, that must be it. You didn't create a whiny, irritating character who didn't fit the tone of the book. It's our fault for not 'getting' how brilliant the character is. Danny Chase is truly the Jar-Jar Binks of the Titans world.

Marv Wolfman brought Terry Long into the New Teen Titans and appeared to be the ultimate Marysue. He was a perv that everyone hated.

I guess you can Argue that Starlin continued to milk the Thanos cow but that character was and is loved by many fans.

As long as the yummy Alex Kingston plays the role, they can make the whole show about River Song if they want.

Cary Bates and one of the stupidest Superman antagonists ever: Terra-Man. Cary Bates and one of the stupidest (literally) Flash foes ever, Big Sir.

I actually like Terra-Man!
Did anyone notice that the movie version of Starlord in Guardians of the Galaxy has the same origin as Terra Man?

How about Kurt Busiek and Triathlon? I generally love the guy, but not sure what the heck he was thinking there.

How about Kurt Busiek and Triathlon? I generally love the guy, but not sure what the heck he was thinking there. I'm not sure if I've ever disliked a character more than Triathlon . Triathalon was a response to constant requests by fans that Busiek do more with his run than relive the glory days and introduce a "new" character to the Avengers built on some classic elements a' la the Vision. He took his inspiration from the classic What If issue featuring the 1950s Avengers and 3-D Man's role in that and tried to build something off of that with the classic suspicious elements new characters introduced into the Avengers always have. In short he gave the fanboy base exactly what they were clamoring for, and typically they hated it. -M
