Steel is still tainted by the Shaquille O'Neill movie and Hollywood has long memories of movie flops. Steel will likely never appear on the big screen again as long as the Shaq movie is in the living memory of Hollywood execs. -M You might be right about that, sadly. I'd mostly blocked that out of my memory.

I've never seen Steel as that... not every Armored hero is an Iron Man knock off... and he doesn't shoot things, he has a hammer... totally different. True, but isn't he a gearhead that is good with technology and built his own super suit? I just think it would be cutting it too close. And yeah he uses a hammer, but he can still shoot projectiles from his suit. Steel (at least for a long time) was pretty low tech... he mostly just had armor, rocket boots, and the hammer. He's also not a rich guy. More recently, yes, is armor got all Boom Tubed up, but at first he was just a guy with a hammer, which was much cooler, and the version I always picture. To be honest, I have no idea if there even is a Steel in the rebirth universe... IIRC he was in the New 52 a bit, but I don't think he's been around in rebirth yet.

I think he would just check off two out of three boxes that Tony already has. Smart and has a man suit. He wouldn't be rich, but I can already see that looking like a bad joke if Steel was in a movie. "LMAO poor brotha can't afford to build a quality suit like rich white Tony" or "Haha look at his ghetto suit custom made in hood!!" Ugh.

Watched the trailer again - it actually gets worse with repeated viewings. Lots of standing and looking moody, or turning and looking moody; lots of poorly articulated speech (Momoa, in particular, I find just about incomprehensible); lots of angst and darkness and flames and crappy slow motion - WW and Flash. And as for Flash's running.... OMG: he's supposed to be the fastest man alive, and he runs like his limbs belong to another person.

It looks like Steppenwolf is the big bad in this unless that was Darkseid voices name dropping the Lanterns.

Looks absolutely dreadful, IMHO. All dark pallette and angst again, lots of terrible dialogue and posing. And I hate the Flash running effects - stupid and awful Better that than the joke-a-second / depth-deprived Marvel movies. If not for the Cap films, the MCU would be no better than The Transformers. The DCEU's lone misstep was Suicide Squad, but the rest treats superheroes with respect, not like a glorified cartoon (MCU), or worse yet, the horrid DC TV series.

Oh wait....you're serious. The lone movie they got right was Wonder Woman. Ummmm...all super-hero comics are is cartoons without motion.

Wonder Woman was solid, but Suicide Squad, BvS and Man of Steel were all awful IMO. And I may not be a huge Superman fan, but I'd say that DC/WB have treated him with essentially zero respect. They've introduced a Superman who acts like it's a total hassle to save people (unless it's Lois), always seems to have a pissed off scowling expression on his face, and essentially holds the world hoatage at the end of Man of Steel. It's astounding how Zack Snyder and Co. managed to get maybe the worlds most popular superhero so utterly wrong. A massive problem that I also have with the DCEU movies (and even the Nolan Batman trilogy) is how they take themselves way too seriously. These are spandex clad superheroes flying around and shooting lasers out of their eyes while trying to save the day. They're inherently bigger than life, silly characters. Yet DC insists on treating the film adaptations of these characters in a serious, gritty manner with a washed out brown/gray color palette even if that comes off as infinitely goofier than embracing the characters for what they are.

To me, they are doomed because everybody that I've talked to say it is because DC Comics has no vision whatsoever in terms of direction of where they want to go and that why I feel that not one person that has the guts to say look at Marvel is doing and we need to steer to that direction and follow that success and make it work for us. No direction No Success and that's the bottom line folks. So, Simon Garth question ... Is Justice League - and the rest of the DC Extended Universe - doomed? YES

The funniest and saddest part is these goofs spent millions just to erase Cavill's mustache.
