I am creating a list of comics I MUST read. Not series, but individual comic books. They can, of course, be part of a series but in general I. Looking for specific editions. So if I was dying tonight, what comic book do I need to get in before the sun comes up?

I would re-read DC Archive #1 of the Justice League of America and many of the Golden Age Archives that I can and for Marvel Comics ... Many of the Marvel Masterworks of the Early Days of the Fantastic Four.

Forget the comics, dude! Get out there and get utterly debauched.

I would get really drunk read Age of Apocalypse and then make love to my wife and then play video games with my boys.

One of my favorite Alan Moore Swamp Thing issues and arguably the most ambitious mainstream issue ever.

Starman #19, Talking with David '96." Jack has finally taken the step into selfless heroism and finds he loves it. he catches up with his deceased brother, who appears to him every year. This one is different, since he brings a birthday present to Jack; their late mother, for Jack to see, one more time. The emotion is pure joy and makes me tear up when I just picture the end of the story. Detective Comics #483, "The Curse of Crime Alley." Batman returns to Crime Alley on the anniversary of his parents' death. Classic no matter which way you slice it. gets to the heart of who batman is and the woman who comforted him, Leslie Tompkins. Bone #10, "The Great Cow Race." One of the funniest comics I ever read!

I couldn't pick one issue of Bone, I'd have to just read through the whole all-in-one edition as I just get sucked in every time I pick it up now. One I forget, but would add... the Manhunter Special from 1984 with the complete saga in 1 issue... -M

Here's a few no one else has mentioned yet... Fables #27 (you really probably should read the whole trade, but if you want a single issue...) This is also the last part of a multi parter.. but I think you could get the gist with just the one issue: Somehow I couldn't get a cover link, but Usagi #8 'A Promise in the Snow' (bring tissues)
