Did Dial "H" for Hero replace J'onn J'onzz in House of Mystery? No, they shared the book and both strips were cancelled simultaneously when the format changed to mystery/horror stories

Thanks, Ish.
I like the J'onn J'onnz series in Detective a lot (what little I've read - maybe 20 issues? Zook and Diane Meade are great!) but I never read any of The House of Mystery stories.

king kandy rocking a hell of a costume.
i'm not sure i'd be overjoyed or somewhat sheepish if i dailed hero and got that. I think i'd need to be exceedingly drunk.

Did Dial "H" for Hero replace J'onn J'onzz in House of Mystery? I have a confession. I've read a lot of comics, and I'm a big fan of the Silver Age. I love stuff like the Metal Men, and I've usually read at least one story of most Silver Age DC series - like Eclipso, Deadman, Viking Prince, Metamorpho, Rip Hunter - through reprints. But I've never read a single Dial H for Hero story. (Though I do vaguely remember the ads for one of the revivals, either the 1970s or the 1970s.) It looks hysterical. King Kandy is irresistible. And all those great Silver Age artists! Yep as Ish said, J'onn J'onzz shared the book with Dial "H" for Hero, and made for a great combination. It just kind of hit me that House of Mystery was pretty much a superhero book for a time there. And yes, King Kandy was the man. I guess in 1966, that costume was still acceptable to wear in public. Even solicited possibly the only kiss ever by Robby's love interest, Suzy.

I've read a fair bit of Greek mythology and I never realised castor and Pollux had those powers! Who says comics aren't educational? Loving the thread. How long to till we reach Zeep the Living Sponge?

BA-TWANG may be my favorite sound effect ever. I wonder if a sound effects thread would be worth starting.
