Word has come in from numerous sources that Len Wein has passed away at age 69. Len is a legend and his legacy will live on as long as Marvel and DC Comics are remembered. It starts with Swamp Thing and Wolverine and continues through his editorial hand on projects like Watchmen and as EIC of Marvel. He will be missed, and remembered. -M

I've been following him on twitter for a few years now and I'd noticed that he was in and out of the hospital on a frequent basis. Sad news. His run on Incredible Hulk is among my all-time favorites.

I had the pleasure of meeting Wein at SDCC 2015. He was a very nice man and had some great stories to tell. My thoughts go out to his friends and family.

I'm at that age where a lot of heroes, influences and favorite entertainers and sports figures are passing on. It sucks. I started reading comics not long after Len Wein started writing them and he wrote great ones, from the beginning. Apart from Swamp Thing he had some really good Batman stories, in the Bronze Age, and some really good JLA stories. He followed those (and the legendary Swamp Thing stories) with a ton of great work at Marvel, both on the creative side and the editorial side. He's one of those guys who seemed to really cherish the artform and use it to tell both entertaining and challenging stories, and could help creative talents shape their work to make it even better, without getting his fingerprints all over it.
Speaking as someone who turns 51 in a few months, 69 is way too young!

The death of comic book greats usually doesn't affect me emotionally, but I've always felt an inexplicable closeness to Wein. Something about his writing always spoke to me on a very personal level, like he was an old friend. I'm really really thrown by this.

His legacy of the Swamp Thing, Watchman, and others including Wolverine one of my favorite Marvel Characters will endure the test of time and he'll not be forgotten; man at age of 69 a shocking news to learn today and he's always be a favorite of mine and his work with Bernie Wrightson on the Swamp Thing is a thing of beauty, horror, and lavish settings that makes this book a true winner in my book. They made it special for all of us to enjoy and behold.
Len, you'll be missed by all of us here. Man, a living legend that will last for generations to generations.
