I got the invites in PM yesterday evening folks. At that point I was gonna see if CBR would create a new Classics Board (and I PM'd someone back they did). I even asked in the thread...is this the new Classics Board for posters ? My intent in asking this was to get everyone back for CBR. Because I wanted us all to be united again on what I felt was a great forum that needed us all to keep it going. (Yes I still was very damn loyal to CBR)
My next goal was to get the Wrasslin Sub Forum back and running . I was gonna push for it back. Then something happened.
They started moving all the discussion threads into the Comm Board. It was weird to see this but it would be like moving the Meanwhile thread to the Community board. Then yesterday evening...they locked them all and said everyone...THE ENTIRE SITE was to have 1 discussion thread. Now imagine all those groups of people who didn't wanna do this. I was the 1st to object to this idea because its a big clusterfuck in a sense. With hundreds of people posting a mile a minute and the groups all were different. Being a traditional Rita's guy and sometimes Meanwhile poster , it didn't thrill me to suddenly have tons of posts about which Mutant was better or how would Cyclops dress lol.
Also I noticed my threads suddenly was deleted. It boggled my mind that actually voicing some critiques of CBR (The No Thank You thread) would suddenly be deemed DELETION worthy. Also that Classics board post....deleted. It made me wonder...just what the hell is negative or deemed too negative now for CBR ? Someone told me on a board his DC thread he proposed was locked....and then re-opened after they examined it. The final straw to me was a thread where I asked what the line was on "negativity" and how much is Over Control on a forum now. That too was deleted.
I voiced this (except the DC thread one which I learned later) and told Brian Cronin about it as well as merging the discussion threads with no warning. It was a civil discussion and others chimed in that new chat thread. But even I echoed it was like they were alienating me away from the boards and that CBR closing Rita's (which was an institution and had been there since nearly the start) is like they were angry at their past . It was weird. No one was angry. I was more sad and dismayed and debated why these threads were getting deleted and that I was pretty sure I was gonna leave.
So I posted to everyone in the Wrasslin Forum I was leaving and would be at BleedingCool. That I wanted to thank them for the years of fun and debates. That if they find me there that is great. A reason I didn't post it on the Community board was I was afraid it would be deleted. That I just wanted to tell everyone where I was going and take care.
That evening I check in to see if anyone here had PM'd me ...and learned I was banned for a month. Which sadly seems to sum up that direction that forum seems to be going in. Its sad. It was my favorite forum for 12+ years and had tons of fun and interaction with guys. I also don't blame Cronin or anyone as Mod's. They are forced to do what now the direction of that forum is. So if anyone is still a member of CBR tell em...I'm not mad at anyone. I know why they are doing what they are doing. In the end I just hope its worth it all. CBR to me ended yesterday.
