I came because I was starting to get into comics from the movies and wanted to get the real comic story behind the films. My friend suggested I give this a try. How did everyone else here find their way?

Well there used to be an original forum that I think got erased or else amalgamated with the CBR forums. The CBR (comic book resource?) is much larger and seems too overwhelming. There are a lot of newer collectors, which is great, but I generally don't find the discussion as in depth. A lot of members here are also there but they tend to post more regularly here I find. I just think this is the best place and the only place for anything classic. You name it, someone here has the answer or has read it and can give you an opinion. That is why I stick around and enjoy it here

I started at CBR some time in late 1997 or early 1998. When the board exploded and they did away with the Classics and the Books Boards I came here.

Posted on CBR, on various Comics Should Be Good articles and, occasionally, in the forums. I wasn't overly fond of the forums (we're only talking about the past couple of years), as the focus tended to be more on recent stuff, to which I was generally ambivalent, and there were a few posters who made me want to avoid threads. When the site went corporate and turned into listacles and movie junk and Comics Should Be Good was shuttered, I gave it a shot but hated the site and found the powers that be didn't care. I soon learned of the twin Atomic junk Shop, where my favorite columnists from the CSBG blogs migrated, and here, where I found the topics to be more in my world. Also, the general tone is a heck of a lot more mature, which is a bonus.

Is this the right room for an argument?

I think that would be a different site for you're looking for an argument.
Thankfully, we have very little of that here.
I've been posting on CBR, Newsarama, Valiant Fans, and the old DC forums for years. Weirdly, I didn't really discover the Classic forum in CBR until about the last year or so there before the infamous reboot.
This is the best place that I've found, by far.
There's still some newer stuff here (considered from the last 10 years per the CCF guidelines) and lots of Classic discussion.
Very organic and fan-friendly as opposed to corporate bombardment with articles, ads and banners flashing everywhere.
This is the place to be IMO.

Although I was aware of the site and registered for a while, but I only started visiting regularly (like on a daily basis), and posting comments after Comics Should be Good at CBR was - to borrow Cody's apposite term - shattered. I like reading the various discussions on the many threads here, and occasionally participating. And like Cody, I highly recommend Atomic Junk Shop as well.

I came here on Day One after being evicted from my previous home on the 'net, the CBR Classics Board, which had become my only stop on that site by then. I joined CBR back in '97 at a time when I had dropped out of the comics scene completely. Participating in the original Continuity board and the Classics board that replaced it reignited my love for the medium and led not only to my current career as a professional comics historian but to some of the finest real-life friendships I've ever known (looking at you, Rob Allen, as well as Greg Hatcher, Jim McQuarrie, et al). I adore this community, I owe it a debt I can never repay, and I can't imagine anyplace else I'd rather be.
Cei-U! I bring the love!

I had enjoyed reading the CBR Classic forums of the grand elders here who participated. When that site changed into garbage advertisement hell I lost the pleasure of reading these folk. I did NOT know they had set up this new site and so several years of wandering the internet highway hitch hiking along with no true destination I came across the CCF. For a month or so I lurked the dark back alley's catching up on what is going on with this site and then joined up and been enjoying myself ever since.
In case it hasn't been said often enough: a hearty thank you to all of you original gangsta's who helped create and maintain the CCF and make this the go to site for so many. Long may you post!!!

I was a sort-of-regular poster on CBR for a few years, almost entirely in the Classics section. When their forums rebooted due to their issues, I came here immediately, to participate in the more-mature level of discourse that had started there and continues here to this day.
I've met a couple of the other posters in real life, sent and been sent comics by folks, and find this to be my favorite site to visit on a daily basis because of the community here. We don't always agree on everything, and I know which threads and topics I need to avoid so as not to get upset or get into fights, but that happens in any family.

I was a regular on Scott Shaw!'s Oddball Comics Forum back when it was at CBR, and at some point I branched out into CBR's Classic Comics Forum, and became a regular there, too. Oddball Comics moved on to its own site (I participated there, too...it's now long since demised, alas!), but I stayed on at CBR's Classics until the meltdown that led to this site. I haven't had nearly as much time to participate here as I have in the old days (I blame that on my second job as an educator), but I've been here since the first week of its existence.

I'd been on the CBR forums for a little while, and got into the cover contest. One week it took a while for a new contest to appear, and I was itching to go cover hunting! I stumbled upon this forum, and now I have double the cover-hunting fun (I occasionally post other stuff, but I do really dig the covers ).

Well, this saved me some typing (except to say that when the Oddball site spun off and expanded, it lost focus for me so I wasn't a regular.)
