Yes with so many of us old codgers around here it would be self evident that a fart room is necessary... Do you remember that quote from The Holy Grail? The Frenchmen taunting King Arthur? Cracks me up every time. "He's says they've already got one." "Oh, yez, issa verra nize!"

I followed the same trajectory as MW Gallaher, MDG and Prince Hal. I started by reading all of the Oddball Comics columns, and when I ran out of those I finally joined the site in 2001 to participate in the Oddball forum, and then the Classics forum, and then here. I still post at CBR a bit, but I have CCF's address in my signature and location. A few people have found their way here because of that. I've had some of the best times of the last 20 years of my life because of this place and this group of people, and some of my best friends ever (hi, Kurt!).

A year and a half ago, I was looking up something or other on Curt Swan, and found a review of Action Comics Weekly that Shaxper did for his "Superman in the Post-Crisis Era" thread. I read the entire thread, and a handful of others, and checked back every so often to see if Shax had posted any new reviews. About 6 months later, he posted a poll asking if he should do more Superman reviews or some other stuff that's totally not important other things he's interested in. I signed up so I could vote. Been hanging around ever since. So blame him. See what you did, shax?

I really really need to get around to restoring that thread.
But first I really really need to get around to completing the Top 100 Comic Sagas tabulation.
But first I really really need to get moved into my new home.
But first I really really need to log off and go to work today.
Who in their right mind let this guy be Site Admin, I ask ya???

Like many others here, I was a regular in the old Classic Comics sub-forum on the old Comic Book Resources site, before I came here. I initially joined the CBR forums back in August 2006, I think, but, at that time, I frequented most of the main sub-forums there about equally. As time wore on though, I began to spend the majority of my time in the Classic Comics forum because I liked the people and the friendly atmosphere there. I made many online friends in that sub-forum and thankfully, most of them came over here too. For some reason, after about 7 years frequenting CBR, I began to drift away from the forums and I hadn't actually checked in for two or three months when the great implosion of 2014 happened. I had no idea that the community had moved over here until Dan Bailey messaged me on Facebook a couple of months later and told me. Of course, I came here straight away and signed up, pleased to see that so many old friends had also made it across, and I've never looked back since. I really do love this community and how polite, knowledgeable and tolerant it is. It's also nice that so many of you look up to me and my waaaay cool green, space-rabbit avatar (even though some trouble makers like Icctrombone are crippled with mean-eyed jealousy over it).

Actually I came for the rousing discussions of the merits of coffee, bananas and pudding, but we seem to have lost track of those somewhere along the line, and to try to track down a copy of Brother Power the Geek #3 for a friend...

I came here as a way to spark some memories of comic books I read back in the day, and to be in the company of those who also enjoyed classic comics through the 90s. Plus, maybe be pointed to some cool stories I may have missed.

I was seeking to engage with smart, funny people on a myriad of fascinating topics where the discussion would be lively and scintillating. But I chose this forum instead, mainly because there was no membership fee.

But I chose this forum instead, mainly because there was no membership fee. I asked for directions to the Filmore East and got sent here... (rimshot please) I'll be here all week, try the veal, and tip the servers well... -M
