Ye gods, who drew that monstrosity - surely that's not Byrne? The face doesn't look like his style at all (and ironically is the only decent part of the drawing)

It's not so much the design I object to (though that is dreadful - it's teenager disco or mall-wear, not Amazon woman), it's the execution of the art - ludicrously out of proportion legs, a waist that's taller than it is round, and a broke-back pose to go with it.

The face doesn't look like his style at all (and ironically is the only decent part of the drawing) Did a lot to get people to reappraise the Diana Prince, Wonder Woman era. Emma Peal WW looked a heck of a lot better than fetish model in biker shorts WW. You can see why about the only superhero comics I was reading, at this time, were Astro City and Starman (apart from the odd one-sot and mini-series, and Busiek's Avengers and Thunderbolts).

The Hulk art was great, I also loved the Tigra miniseries (with a cool design for Tigra that I haven't seen anyone else use, too.)

The Hulk art was great, I also loved the Tigra miniseries (with a cool design for Tigra that I haven't seen anyone else use, too.) I was trying a style using no contour lines back then. I later used it in the first issues of Original Sin
