Bendis posted a pic of a stack of trades he received from DC to prep for his assignments on his Instagram. Can't link the pic directly it seems, so go look if curious. Lots of Legion, JSA, Superman, Green Lantern, Gotham Central, with a side of event books, Teen Titans and World's Finest. Extrapolate what you will from that. -M

I admit, I'm interested in seeing how he would handle Superman in either one of his current titles or a new ongoing series. I know Batman may be the face of DC now but letting him onto a Superman book is giving Bendis the key to the kingdom, a big sign of intent.
However, I think he would be a bad fit for the Legion. The cast is far too large for his writing quirks (cue the double-page spread of the long back-and-forth banter conversation) unless in whatever form DC brings the team back, they somehow streamline them.
Frankly, given his love of alternate histories and grand cosmic epics, I find Hickman to be a much better choice for guiding any new Legion adventures.

If he is aiming at Vertigo Crime, it could be interesting. He started off strong with 3 or 4 crime titles before moving to super-heroes/Marvel titles.
The only one I checked out was Moon Knight, perhaps it's above the average, I didn't think much of it. Had Moon Knight's other personas, (who were in this rendering standard Marvel super-heroes), were result of Knight's imagination (as is the case with MPD - they don't use existing personalities, fictional or real-rife), as if they don't exist in that Universe, and no one knows for them (MK is the sole masked-hero on Earth) - that could have been more interesting.
One thing I liked about that MK were dialogs - well done, natural flow.
Regarding re-vamping of existing titles, Marvel/DC they are doing it since the late 80s. If that's it - it's the same old same old.

That stack is all of what I DONT want him to write . It's VERY heavy on Johns written stuff... I wonder if that's a bit of hubris? Please god no Legion.. that could be a real disaster. If I was picking, I'd say Gotham Central (or something similar), Zatanna, Shazam (good call there) and some Vertigo creator owned thing if we're sticking with 4 (his usual output).

Some have pointed out that Johns is kind of the de facto architect of the current DCU and his writing style is the "house style" for storytelling for DC currently, so the heavy Johns content could be a way of being a primer to the current editorial and style/process expectations of working for DC rather than for story/character background. -M

See, Legion is another one i think he'd be good with, as again I think he does young voices very well which would fit with a great back to basics Legion book.

With the Hickman rumors swirling again, I’d love to see he and Bendis collaborate on The Legion together.

My first reaction is that perhaps the most surprising thing about this news is that it took so long. Have there been many other writers or artists in the modern age - say since 2000 - who have stayed exclusively with one company for so many years? I suppose Geoff Johns would be the obvious DC example, setting aside his one brief stint with Marvel.

Bendis is ok with young characters, yes, but he's not good with teams IMO... he just writes one personality. His Marvel events when he tries to do cosmic haven't gone well, either. I was hoping Hickman was off writing is unending creator owned nonsense forever... I don't have any desire to see him on any property I like ever again.

I know he announced a couple months ago that he was doing a “Punisher: End of Days” series.
Wonder if that was his last project at Marvel or if it was scrapped completely. I need something to wash the taste of Becky Cloonan’s craptastic run out of my mouth. Garth Ennis’ Punisher: Platoon is stellar, but it’s strictly a war comic detailing Frank’s first tour in ‘Nam.
As Stevo alluded to, I think Bendis is better suited for gritty street-level heroes.
If they put him on a Batman title, I’d probably be inclined to check it out. But everything about Batman has become so damn convoluted ever since guys like Morrison and Snyder got their hands on him. And it seemed like there was a continuation of that in the 6-7 issues of King’s run that I gave a shot.

Very, very happy to get him far away from Iron Man . Tru dat - his Iron Man has been dreadful, as was GotG. To be honest, he has seemed to just be going through the motions since he finished with X-Men, so I;m not entirely surprised he's moved over. I actually quite like a lot of his stuff, while recognising his weaknesses, but not enough to follow him to DC. Hickman on the other hand, who is apparently also possibly going to DC, on the Legion would be something to behold

Bendis, while he's a big name and moves copies, is the personification of most of what's wrong with Marvel since 2000 IMO.
I'll admit I not only liked but loved his DD run.
I'm sure he's going to get some kind of Batman action, and maybe some Teen Titans action. Those both make sense.
His coming to DC means very little to me.
Hickman, however, excites me, and I'm hoping he takes Legion over. I think that could be epic.
