Ooh. Anyone have the Green Lantern story where they obviously ran out of space and the story ends with Gil Kane at his drawing table "Hey! I'm Gil Kane! Now we only have one page left but I'm gonna tell you what happened!" Sounds interesting. Here are a couple of pages from GL #45 but I don't think this is what you are referring to, because the premise is different from what you've described. He's also in a panel mid-story in GL #29. That was it! My memory isn't great. It seemed pretty clear they used Kane as a framing device because they were out of story pages, but I guess the story never actually said so.

What ever happened to the second Earth from the Warlock series.
Did Marvel ever re-visit it?

Kane could draw some horses, couldn't he?

I really enjoyed this series I enjoyed it, too. At the time, it was sort of a big deal to have Kane return to the character he helped make famous in the 1960s, and his skills had not taken a downturn like other artists of his generation during the 80s. It was certainly different than his 60s work, but it was detailed and just as energetic as always.

Really great art on those Western Comics covers. Here's another long-time favorite Kane cover of mine. Inked by Anderson.

Regarding Kane/Janson: Kane had such a strong stylized pencil style that Janson's own creative inking style meshed with superbly. Kane's work stood out and Austin emphasized without overpowering (which his style often did with lesser pencil artists) creating a truly scrumptious combination. Made for some truly great and spectacular comic book covers whenever they were teamed up. Also why Miller/Janson worked so well on the printed page. Janson made anybody look good!!

Totally agree
Janson is one of the best inkers in the business, along with Palmer, Sienkiewicz, and Austin, to name a few
