He had such a great understanding of the dramatic, without a moment of action involved.

I LOVE the amount of Spidey covers here. I feel some of the best have already been posted so I will go with this one. Love the background detail.

Romita Sr is one of my top 5 artists of all time and I was never a Spider-man fan. He just did great covers back in the day.

Captain America #144 Romita's characters always appeared to radiate energy and life--from the body positions to facial expressions. ...and I loved the all-too brief return to the Golden Age-style title design.

I'm glad to see so many romance covers, as Romita was a master. I think my favorite of his romance covers, though, is this one:

I'm glad to see so many romance covers, as Romita was a master. I think my favorite of his romance covers, though, is this one: Yes he is. Look at the way he creates an overcast sky--no cartoony, "bubbling" clouds, but the sky looks like there's depth.

I'm glad to see so many romance covers, as Romita was a master. I think my favorite of his romance covers, though, is this one: Yes he is. Look at the way he creates an overcast sky--no cartoony, "bubbling" clouds, but the sky looks like there's depth. I love this cover and don't want to sound pedantic, but is the sky all Romita, or did the colorist have anything to do with it? GCD doesn't identify one, and says that the cover comes from the splash of the story. Can't imagine the panel would look like that. Again, just wondering.
