I happen to have this issue, and the lines for the sky are all in the splash, but it is colored less dramatically - lighter, less moody. This reminds me of the Jack Adler grey wash war covers of the late 50s and early 60s, though I don't know if he had a hand in the coloring or not.

I saw that page online and wonders whether it was Adler who colored the cover, which is far moodier. No indication on the GCD, though. |
