The samples shown in RR's post look better to me than the ones I remember seeing previously from the Glénat Conan - but maybe that was a different book with a different artist. I think I might give Le Colosse Noir a try, if I can find it at a decent price. Did you have to order your copy online, Ben, or did you find it in the store? I had to order it from Archambault, a big chain that has both brick and mortar bookstores and an online service. Local stores didn’t have a copy, alas!

Thanks, I haven't ordered from them before, might give them a try for this one. I don't think anyone has it around here either, though there's one place I haven't looked yet.

Bill Sienkewicz posted the art for his variants for Savage Sword #1 and Conan #1... Savage Sword... Conan #1... now if Marvel didn't have insane buy in policies for retailers ot be eligible to buy these, I might get both, but as it is, I will just admire the art as posted. -M

The Conan books don't have the sheer numbers that the Star Wars titles had, but there is a chance that they'll collect all the variants into a book like Star Wars: The Marvel Covers.

In March, Tini Howard and Kate Niemczyk will give us a Bêlit origin story in the 5 issue Age of Conan: Bêlit.

Conan will also be appearing in the Marvel Event: Avengers No Road Home when Scarlet Witch travels back to the Hyborian Age... While a part of me hopes this is just a one off like the Spider-Man Red Sonja Marvel Team Up issue with Kulan Gath (well there was a team up mini series years later too), part of me is afraid this is the first step on a slippery slope of trying to integrate Conan fully in the MU, which I think is a terrible idea. -M

Whether this is just cool variant art to sell more copies or ties into that Avengers event or perhaps Aaron somehow bringing Conan into the main book as well, don't know.

I'd much rather Conan remain it's own world, and not even Conan could get me into a big Marvel Cross Over event at this stage of my life.

They are not doing anyone any favors - Kids who are looking for super-heroes will be disappointed, and most likely won't even be tricked into buying fake super-hero comic, while the others who are looking for genuine Conan story won't buy it because Hyborian World and Marvel Universe are not connected in any way shape or form, so they can dismiss it as yet another cross-over/affirmation for some super-hero property (at the expense of Conan).
Come think of it super-heroes/villains (creatures who are using super-natural abilities and/or advanced technology) actually exist in Hyborian World - they are called wizards (and witches). Conan, who derives his abilities from regular old fashioned strength and skills, slayed tremendous amount of wizards. That's kind of a point actually, it mirrors ancient giants vs gods death match.

Actually, when Conan was at Marvel before, the Hyborian Age was part of Marvel's past, with things like Shuma Gorath and Kulan Gath being featured in both and even having the idea that Mary Jane Watson was descended from Red Sonja. And with Conan appearing in the latest Marvel event, it looks like they are going to try to tie him into the MU again. -M
